Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What's the highest possible hand?

Answer: 29

29 is the most you can get. The odds are really low. 29 hand consists of one jack and three fives and the turn card is a five that matches the jack.
2. It is possible to get double skunked.

Answer: True

It is possible to get double skunked but it's rare. Getting skunked is not rare though. Say if you were playing on a 121 point board, scoring 60 points or fewer is being double skunked, and if you score 90 points of fewer that is getting skunked. It depends on the board for each skunk area.
3. What is the total of this hand? A,2,3,J, and a four as the turn card, all of the cards are the same suit.

Answer: 14

There is a total of 14 points, two fifteen two's, a four card straight, a five card flush and the jack as the same suit as the 4 for point.
4. What does it mean to be stink holed?

Answer: when the person beats you when you just needed one point to win, the second last hole.

The stink hole is when your stuck in the second last hole on the board and you just needed one point to win, and the other player has enough points to win. Being stink holed is worse then being skunked.
5. It is possible to get any amount of points up to 29.

Answer: False

You can get any amount of points except 19. There is no possible combination to get you 19 points, the 19 hand is referred to the nothing hand.
6. If you have a four card flush(all the same suit) in your crib it doesn't count unless the turn card is the same suit too.

Answer: True

You must have a five card flush to earn points in your crib. Your main hand only needs a four card flush.
7. How much is a four of kind hand worth? (four 2s)

Answer: 12

It is twelve, a pair is 2 points, a trio is 6, and four of a kind is 12.
8. Your hand: two jacks (diamonds, spades), two fives (hearts, clubs), the turn card is a five of diamonds. How many points do you have?

Answer: 23

The correct answer is 23, 7 fifteen two's=14, three of a kind=6, a pair=2 points and the turn card is the same suit as one of the jacks.
9. You can play up to six players.

Answer: True

Yes you can you can play two players, three players, and four players (a team 2on2). For three players you have to deal each person five cards then you put a card from the top of the deck into your crib. Each player then throws away one. With four players everyone gets five cards and they each throw one in the crib. Six-handed play is also possible, with three teams of two, but is not as common.
10. Finish the inventors name of cribbage. Sir John what?

Answer: Suckling

Sir John Suckling invented cribbage in 1632. He was born in 1609 and died 1642.
