1. What is the name of the device that you press in the centre of the board to roll the dice in the popular board game "Trouble"?

Answer: Pop-O-Matic

"Trouble" is a Milton Bradley game which has been popular since the 1960's.
2. What favourite children's game involves building a Rube Goldberg-type contraption while moving around the board and hoping you don't get caught in it at the end?

Answer: Mouse Trap

The game's original version was devised by Hank Kramer of the Ideal Toy Company in the 1960s. It was modified by Sid Sackson in the 1970's and is still a super fun game that stimulates kid's minds.
3. If you want to play this Canadian family board game you better bring your bucket of pennies. You can win in many ways each round, taking the pot from special sections on the board or winning the poker hand. What is the name of this game that combines elements of Rummy and Poker?

Answer: Rummoli

I've gone back to the 1940s with this game by the Copp Clark Publishing Company of Toronto.
4. Whoo whoo... All aboard! What is the name of the international award winning German-style railway-themed board game that was published in 2004 by Days of Wonder?

Answer: Ticket To Ride

This game is fun for all ages, and was invented by Alan R. Moon.
5. Players build cities, settlements and connecting roads in an attempt to dominate an island nation in this strategic game. Which original version of the game "Catan" is required in order to play all other add-on versions?

Answer: Settlers of Catan

The standard game is published in the North America and the UK by Mayfair Games. It was designed by Klaus Teuber.
6. To score points in this game you must match up the numbers of your triple-sided tiles. What is this game that puts a new spin on a very old game?

Answer: Triominoes

The very old game I'm referring to is of course dominoes. The oldest set of the game was found in King Tut's tomb.
7. What secret talent would you hope your partners had when playing the hilarious game "Pictionary"?

Answer: Drawing

When playing "Pictionary" one team member draws a word or phrase as indicated on a card drawn from the deck, while the others guess what it is. Prepare to roll on the floor laughing!
8. Sometimes a simple dice game is the perfect fit for a night when you want a short, fast-paced game. Which of the following is NOT a dice game?

Answer: Uno

Yahtzee is a well known game where you roll dice to get the required combinations on a predetermined list. Kismet is very similar, but with a few different categories to roll. Bunco is a game for 4 players, competing in teams of two. Players attempt to roll the required numbers in a series of rounds. It is often played with large groups that switch tables. Uno is a card game.
9. Occasionally there are only two of us in the mood to pull out a game. Which one of the following games cannot be played with just two players?

Answer: Catch Phrase

"Catch Phrase" is a game that must be played in teams. One player gives clues to make the other player(s) guess the word(s) appearing in the window on the game wheel. Play passes back and forth between teams until time runs out, at which time the team not holding the wheel scores a point on the game board.
10. It's not a coincidence that nobody wants to play trivia games with me. Can you identify which of the following is NOT a trivia based board game?

Answer: Happenstance

The game Happenstance does not exist. It is a word that is defined as "a chance happening or event -- a coincidence". If you are looking for a fun game that levels the playing field a bit, give "Wits and Wagers" a try.
