Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following prestige classes has "Alignment: any evil" as a requirement?

Answer: Insidious Corruptor

The Brimstone Speaker must be good, even if the name might make you suspect otherwise. He uses truename magic to call upon angels and the like to fight on his behalf.
The Hellreaver must also be good. He is a non-magic using fighter that specialises in fighting devils.
The Malconvoker sounds quite evil as well, but actually may be anything but. He is a conjurer who summons evil creatures to accomplish good deeds, turning their own arsenal against them.

The Insidious Corruptor, however, must be evil. He is a silver-tongued, charming manipulator, well able to fool anyone's senses. Few can resist his suggestions.
2. Which of the following prestige classes may be chosen by non-dwarves?

Answer: Earth Dreamer

The Ollam is a teacher of the dwarven people.
The Ironsoul Forgemaster is a smith. She uses her meldshaping ability to create the best of weapons.
The Dwarven Defender is a typical dwarf. She is a skilled fighter, dedicated to protect her kin.

The Earth Dreamer is a diviner, who may be of any race. She can attune herself to the dreams of the mountains, to pull knowledge from the earth itself.
3. Which of the following prestige classes requires a Will Save Bonus of 12 to be eligible to enter?

Answer: Hidecarved Dragon

The Knight of the Crown and the Knight of the Rose are Knights of Solamnia on Krynn. They have a Fortitude Save Bonus 4 requirement and a Will Save Bonus 7 requirement, respectively.
To become an Initiate of Pistis Sophia, you require a bonus of 5 in all three saves. He is a monk that specialises in fighting evil, eventually becoming a creature of the heavens himself.

The Hidecarved Dragon is a member of an order of dragons. He is especially resistant to anything you can think of: mind control, energy, poison, mundane damage, ...
4. Which of the following prestige classes has no entry requirement to have ranks in "Move Silently"?

Answer: Shadowstriker

The Shadowblade manipulates shadows to improve her sneaky fighting.
The Shadowdancer uses shadows to further her deceptive abilities as a rogue.
The Shadowmind is a manifester that specialises in the clouding of minds to further her goals.
These prestige classes have a "Move Silently" entry requirement of 5, 8 and 5, respectively.

The Shadowstriker has no Move Silently entry requirement, only Knowledge (Religion) 2. Paladins are especially attracted to this class.
5. Which of the following prestige classes is from the "Sandstorm" sourcebook?

Answer: Lord of Tides

The Stormsinger is a bard from the Frostburn book. He devotes himself to using the power of storms to wreak havoc on his foes.
The Windwright Captain from the Eberron Explorer's Handbook. He is a master of both sea and sky, navigating his ship over the seven seas and through the skies with equal skill.
The Stonedeath Assassin is a goblinoid from Races of Stone, who specialises in hunting dwarves in their own habitat.

Interestingly, the Lord of Tides is from Sandstorm, even if the name might lead you to think the class is from Stormwrack. He specialises in locating water in the desert, hence the name.
6. Most prestige classes have 3, 5 or 10 levels, but some don't. Which of the following prestige classes has the most levels?

Answer: Void Disciple

The Malconvoker has 9 levels. She is a summoner, who tries to use evil creatures to accomplish good acts.
The Spymaster has 7 prestige class levels. She uses spell-like abilities to hide herself and her actions from discovery.
Lastly, the Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil has 7 levels as well (what did you expect?). She is especially apt at using the seven colors of the rainbow to defend herself.

The Void Disciple has no less than 13 levels. She uses the base force of the universe, the Void, to understand the world around her.
7. A few prestige classes allow a character to continue rising in spell casting capability, psionics, mysteries, or invocations in an existing class. Even rarer are the prestige classes that allow one to continue rising in two classes, simultaneously, each time one gains a level in the prestige class. Which of the following prestige classes does not allow a character to rise in two previous classes simultaneously?

Answer: Geomancer

The Cerebremancer rises in a previous arcane spell casting class and in a manifesting (psionic) class simultaneously, for all 10 levels of the class. He's usually highly intelligent.
The Noctumancer is an arcane caster, but also uses shadow magic to cast mysteries. He rises in both his previous classes simultaneously.
The Sapphire Hierarch is a divine spellcaster that rises in his other, meldshaping class just as well. He's quite resistant to damage.

The Geomancer (Complete Divine), however, may rise in a previous arcane or divine spell casting class each level, but never both. As a geomancer increases in level, he gradually drifts closer to nature himself, taking on ever more animalistic properties.
8. Which of the following prestige classes has Great Fortitude and Toughness among its prerequisites?

Answer: Blood Magus

The Bloodclaw Master has Multiattack or Two-Weapon Fighting as her "feat prerequisites". She knows how to fight like a tiger, and may even copy some of its physical features while doing so.
The Bloodhound class requires Endurance and Track to enter. As you may suspect, she is extremely good at tracking down fugitives.
The Bloodstorm Blade requires Point Blank Shot. She is especially proficient with thrown weapons.

The Blood Magus, finally, has the two feat requirements from the question. She is a seasoned arcane caster. For the small price of using some of her own blood, she may do without the simple and cheap material components of her spells, at the same time increasing their power.
9. Which of the following prestige classes does not require the wild shape ability to enter?

Answer: Chameleon

The Daggerspell Shaper is usually a druid that has specialised in using the dagger for sneak or skirmish attacks. He must, of course, be able to wild shape.
The Master of Many Forms is the ultimate shape changer. Eventually, he gains the shapechanger subtype, and becomes immune to unwanted transmutation effects and adverse aging effects.
Nature's Warrior almost always started off as a druid. However, he got so accustomed to spending time in animal forms that he actually prefers those over his humanoid form.

A Chameleon need not be a shape shifter, although the name suggests otherwise. He is called a Chameleon because this prestige class can mimick various other classes' abilities, not because it can change forms. Note, however, that the only two races eligible for this class are humans and dopplegangers.
10. Almost all prestige classes have a Base Attack Bonus progression that is either Poor, Average, or Good. However, there is at least one class that does not. Which of the following classes has no normal progression?

Answer: War Hulk

The Goliath Liberator has a Base Attack Bonus (BAB) entry requirement of 7. She is dedicated to liberate others of her kin, that have been enslaved by giants.
The Primeval (Frostburn) has a BAB requirement of 8. She has an alternate, prehistoric form that she can change into as a supernatural ability.
The Eternal Blade must have a BAB of 10 to enter. This elf is especially good at using her fighting stances, since she is being taught by the spirit of a deceased Eternal Blade.
All the above prestige classes have a "Good" BAB progression.

The War Hulk may have a Base Attack Bonus entry requirement of 5, but her progression is 0 at every level gained. This is in part compensated by the fact that her Strength increases by 2 with every level gained in this class, effectively adding +1 to her melee attack rolls. Note that she does not, however, gain multiple attacks per round. This is compensated by granting her various special boulder and swing attacks.
