Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Your Mission: Force your opponent's king into a gridlock that he can't move out of - when he's in danger, and cannot move into a more favorable position, you'll win! Be careful, your opponent is trying to do the same to you! Which game is this?

Answer: Chess

Yup, we're kicking off with the classic military-inspired game of chess. "Check" is a condition that occurs when one of your pieces can threaten your opponent's king, and the rule is that a king *must* be moved from "check" if the player can. If all other positions your opponent's king could move to are *also* in "check," then the game is over and you've won!
2. Your Mission: Take over the world! Which game is this?

Answer: RISK

In RISK, you take your armies and fight with luck and strategy to eliminate your opponents' territorial holdings until you're the only one left in the world. Given the enormity of the goal, it's probably not surprising that a typical game lasts ages.
3. Your Mission: To capture your enemy's flag - beware the bombs! Which game is this?

Answer: Stratego

Stratego is another military-based game where each side, like chess, has different pieces with different abilities and movement rules. Each side also has a stationary flag which you try to find on your opponent's side of the board.
4. Your Mission: To defeat the choice your opponent picked. There's an even one-in-three chance to win, lose, or draw each round. Which game is this?

Answer: Rock, Paper, Scissors

Rock, Paper, Scissors, that classic game of psychology also known as Rochambeau. Rock beats scissors which beats paper which beats rock. The fact that each option has one major strength and one weakness makes it a very hard game to beat, the only strategy really involves trying to decipher the nonrandom behavior of your opponent.
5. Your Mission: Bankrupt the rest of the players and take all their properties! Which game is this?

Answer: Monopoly

Monopoly is the classic board game where you buy up properties, and as people pay each other the higher and higher rents, eventually people get bankrupted, one by one. Whoever is the last one standing wins the game - and gets the monopoly!
6. Your Mission: Be the first to collect six wedges by answering questions, then answer a final question. Which game is this?

Answer: Trivial Pursuit

Trivial Pursuit is the quiz-style game where there are six categories of question. Each category corresponds to a different color wedge, and once you've landed on all six types of questions and answered each correctly, you head to the central hub for a final test to win.
7. Your Mission: A dangerous one - discover who killed Mr. Boddy/Dr.Black. Which game is this?

Answer: Clue(do)

Clue has several suspects all in a house together, and they're all quite colorful and larger than life. One killed their host, named either Mr. Boddy or Dr. Black depending on which version of the game you have. You figure out who did it, in which room, and with what weapon. Colonel Mustard in the study with the wrench indeed!
8. Your Mission: Spell words. The one who uses the most letters with the highest values wins. And be careful - more obscure letters count more! Which game is this?

Answer: Scrabble

Scrabble is the anagram game where you take letter tiles and use them to spell out words on a board in a crossword fashion. You get points based on the letters you use and their positioning on the board.
9. Your Mission: To come up with words that fit a certain definition and start with a certain letter. The clock is ticking - and if anyone else comes up with that word, you get zero points! Which game is this?

Answer: Scattergories

In Scattergories, you roll a die and whichever letter comes up, you and everyone else tries to write down a word with that letter to start that fits in various categories. With the crunched timing, it's hard to think up unique responses and get those juicy points!
10. Your Mission: Last the longest in this gravity-defying endeavor. Which game is this?

Answer: Hula

Hula is a very toy-based game, but the objective in competitive play is to be able to maintain your balance for longer! Good luck and don't let the hoop or yourself fall down!
