Answer: A type of toast

In 1892/93 the singer, Dame Nellie Melba, was living at the Savoy Hotel in London. At that time the chef there was Auguste Escoffier. During an illness she wanted nothing but very dry toast, which he named Melba Toast after her. It was during this period that he also created Peach Melba, the dessert named in her honour.

Answer: Dr. Pepper

Invented in 1885 by pharmacist Charles Alderton, Dr. Pepper is said to be named after Charles T. Pepper. Alderton was working at a drug store owned by Wade Morrison, and Mr Pepper was the owner of the first drugstore in which Mr Morrison ever worked.
