Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the beginning of the show during the title song, what type of weather-related object is featured in the animation being shown on the screens at either side of the stage?

Answer: a sun

There's a friendly sun looking bored in the office, wishing it could come out to play without having lots of worries in life, just like the characters in the show.
2. Who promises he would still like his roommate, even if he turned out to be gay?

Answer: Nicky

Nicky sings 'If You Were Gay' to Rod early on in the show, trying to encourage him to be honest about his sexuality. It does work ... eventually!
3. Complete this song lyric: 'The internet is really, really great for ___'

Answer: porn

Yes it's a lyric from 'The Internet Is For Porn' sung by the wonderful Trekkie Monster.
4. What does Kate Monster do for a living?

Answer: Kindergarten teaching assistant

She teaches in the local kindergarten under the watchful eye of the evil Mrs Thistletwat. Princeton goes to work in a call centre after he splits up with Kate, Brian is unemployed (we hear that he's just been laid off at the beginning of the show), and Rod is an investment banker.
5. In what subject does Princeton have a degree?

Answer: English

We find this out right at the beginning of the show during the obviously titled 'What do you do with a BA in English?' Christmas Eve has a masters in social work.
6. Who is knocked unconscious after being hit by a penny dropped from the top of the Empire State Building?

Answer: Lucy the Slut

Kate tries to set up a meeting with Princeton on top of the Empire State Building to try and win him back, but Lucy intercepts her letter so Princeton knows nothing about it and Kate is stood up. Kate is mad at Princeton and throws the lucky penny he gave her over the top of the building where it hits an unsuspecting Lucy at the bottom.
7. Why was the penny of special significance to Princeton?

Answer: It was made in the year he was born

Princeton finds the penny on the street during the song 'Purpose' with the words 'Here's a penny, from the year I was born. It's a sign!'
8. Complete the lyric: 'There's a ______ squashed on the street'

Answer: pigeon

From the song 'There is Life Outside your Apartment'
9. The character of Gary Coleman is always played by a woman.

Answer: false

In the original Broadway production the character of Gary is indeed played by a woman, however when the West End production opened it was decided that London audiences wouldn't be as familiar with the real Gary Coleman (and therefore wouldn't get the joke) so the character in London is played by a man.
10. At the end of the show when Nicky finds a boyfriend for Rod, which character does he look suspiciously like?

Answer: Nicky

Nicky knows that Rod used to dream about being with him, so he found him a boyfriend that should fill in the gap, he's even called Ricky! :)
