A Short Walk Down "Avenue Q" Trivia Quiz

Princeton is the first character we see, but he's a puppet. He's just graduated with a B.A. in English and is hoping to make his mark in the world and find his "purpose". Brian is also trying to make his way as a comedian but isn't doing very well. He starts singing the song "It Sucks To Be Me" and soon finds out that everyone else thinks their lives suck too. Christmas Eve is Brian's fiancee and Gary Coleman, yes, the former child star Gary Coleman, has come down to earth with a bump and is now the superintendant of the apartment block.

They tell him it's better to buy in bulk and he agrees although we never see him buy or drink the beer so he may eventually have thought better of it. They also try and convince him to hang himself later!
As we find out at the end, it might have been a good idea to go into the porn-investment business with Trekkie Monster as it made him a bundle!

Answer: Lavinia

Kate Monster is the sweet-natured heroine of the show. She tells Princeton that her dream is to open a school for monsters where they can learn without persecution. We hear Kate call her boss "Lavinia" when she phones up to say she's having heart surgery so won't be able to teach her morning classes.

She then says she'll probably be back by the afternoon. Kate is thrilled to have been given the chance to teach her own class. Mrs. T's full surname is a bit rude to put here!

Answer: Absinthe daiquiris

The outcome of the drinks leads to a rather raunchy puppet scene! The song that's sung at the time is called "You Can Be as Loud as the Hell You Want (When You're Makin' Love)" so that gives you the general idea. Unfortunately for Kate, she oversleeps and misses teaching her kindergarten class. Mrs T. phones her and complains that monsters are unreliable. Kate manages to say she quits before she's fired.

Nicky lives with Rod, in an obvious parody of "Sesame Street's" co-habitors, Bert and Ernie. In "Avenue Q", however, Rod is a closet homosexual and Nicky spends most of the show trying to tell him that he doesn't care if Rod's gay or not, he's still his best friend.

Answer: Brian and Christmas Eve's wedding

Christmas Eve looks lovely in a dress with flashing fairy lights and Kate has a new hair-style. Unfortunately, Princeton has a bit of a revelation that sets his relationship with Kate back to the start...

Answer: Propose

Kate has won the bouquet ("A little girl caught it, but she wasn't very strong") and rushes back to Princeton. He suddenly gets cold feet about his relationship with Kate and breaks it off with her. Boo!

Answer: waste of time

Poor old Kate Monster! She decides that she can't just be friends with Princeton and asks him to leave Avenue Q. Will she change her mind?

Answer: The Empire State Viewing Platform at midnight

Kate is fruitlessly waiting for Princeton and in anger, throws the penny he gave her over the side of the Empire State Building. It hits Lucy on the head and she's rushed to hospital.

Answer: Ricky

Rod threw Nicky out for telling everyone he was gay (which he denied) but Nicky tries to make amends by posting Rod's profile on the internet to find him a boyfriend, which he does. Ricky looks exactly like Nicky! So, Kate and Princeton get back together, Lucy becomes a born-again virgin and everyone ends up happy, well at least, "only for now"!
