Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I was the father of the Gods of the sky, sea, and underworld. Which Olympian God/Goddess/Titan am I?

Answer: Cronus

Cronus was the Titan of time. His symbol was a scythe on a purple background. He ate all of his children except for Zeus, whom Rhea hid in a hill with a magic goat that took care of Zeus. Later Rhea tricked Cronus into consuming a magic herb that made him regurgitate the other Olympian Gods.
2. I am the God or Goddess of wealth as well as many other things. Which Olympian God/Goddess/Titan am I?

Answer: Hades

Hades, son of Cronus, was the God of wealth because all of the precious jewels and gold were in his realm. He and his wife Persephone were the king and queen of the Underworld, also called Hades. Persephone was allowed to leave the Underworld for six months of each year to be with her mother, Demeter, but had to stay in the Underworld for the other six months.

This is why seasons are said to change. When Persephone is with her mother, Demeter, the six months are in the seasons of spring and summer.

But when Persephone goes back to the Underworld, Demeter causes the seasons to change to autumn and winter.
3. I was the most calm of the Gods and Goddesses, as well as being one of the most beautiful, and associated with love. Which Olympian God/Goddess/Titan am I?

Answer: Aphrodite

According to Hesiod, Aphrodite was born from the sea after Cronus castrated his father Uranus. She was also the only Olympian goddess not to have been eaten by Cronus. When she became one of the Olympians, Zeus immediately decided that she was to be married to Hephaestus. This was fine with Hephaestus but Aphrodite didn't like the decision, and is often seen with Ares.
4. I was thrown off the top of Mount Olympus by Hera/Zeus (depending on which story you hear) for being too ugly. Which Olympian God/Goddess/Titan am I?

Answer: Hephaestus

Hephaestus is married to Aphrodite, although she is in love with Ares, but Hephaestus creates traps meant to embarrass the two gods. Hephaestus also makes many incredible inventions. One of his inventions was a golden throne that, when Hera sat on it, trapped the goddess. Hephaestus would not release her until Hera apologized for throwing him off of Mount Olympus.
5. I once fell asleep and was captured and held for ransom but turned my captors into dolphins. Which Olympian God/Goddess/Titan am I?

Answer: Dionysus

It is also said that he drove his captors to the point of insanity before turning them into dolphins. This made Poseidon happy to have new creatures in his realm. It is said that Dionysus used to be a mortal but when he invented wine Zeus was so impressed that he made Dionysus immortal.
6. I am the Lord of the Sky and had a million lightning bolts made by the Cyclopes. Which Olympian God/Goddess/Titan am I?

Answer: Zeus

Zeus is the King of the Gods, and his lightning bolts are all crafted after his one "master bolt". He sliced Cronus into a million pieces and banished him into the depths of Tartarus. He also gave birth to Dionysus by sewing Dionysus into Zeus's leg.
7. I am one of the most skilled fighters among the Gods, but I am also a crybaby when I get hurt. Which Olympian God/Goddess/Titan am I?

Answer: Ares

Ares is a skilled fighter but whenever he gets hurt he goes crying to Zeus. This always embarrasses Zeus but amuses Athena. He is almost always on the opposite side of Athena in wars. He is accompanied by Eris, minor goddess of discord and chaos.
8. I am the patron Goddess of Achilles. Which Olympian God/Goddess/Titan am I?

Answer: Athena

When Achilles was fighting Hector, Athena fooled Hector into fighting Achilles face to face. The Trojan war was one of the few wars where the Olympians helped mortals to win wars.
9. I am the most moody of the Gods and will create multiple natural disasters if I am in a bad mood. Which Olympian God/Goddess/Titan am I?

Answer: Poseidon

While Zeus and Hades can be temperamental, they still are not as moody as Poseidon. Poseidon will stir up a hurricane if he is in a bad mood and create a new island when in a good mood. Poseidon once fell in love with a woman and created a horse out of the foam of the waves to please her.
10. I was the one who helped another God create a certain musical instrument. Which Olympian God/Goddess/Titan am I?

Answer: Hermes

Hermes helped create the lyre for Apollo to try to make up for stealing Apollo's cattle. He did this while he was still a baby.
