1. The Last Supper?

Da Vinci's representation of Jesus' last meal before being crucified was finished in 1498. Within a few years the fresco deteriorated rapidly, and has been restored many times.
2. David in marble (before his battle with Goliath)?

Answer: Michelangelo

David is portrayed before his battle with Goliath, tense but reserved, it this colossal marble statue. Three of these statues can be found in Florence. This is probably the most famous statue of David.
3. David in bronze (standing on the head of Goliath)?

Answer: Donatello

The first nude statue of the Renaissance, this David, also in Florence, depicts David after his famous battle.
4. The Sistine Chapel ceiling?

Answer: Michelangelo

Michelangelo was commissioned in 1508 to repaint the ceiling by Pope Julius II. The frames depict scenes mainly from the book of Genesis, and many prophets and other figures decorate this magnificent work of art.
5. The Mona Lisa?

Answer: Leonardo

This exquisite work of art, started in 1503 and worked on for the next 4 years, shows a woman with a hinting smile. The woman is supposedly Lisa di Antonio Maria di Noldo Gherardini. Stolen once, defaced by acid once, the Mona Lisa sits today behind bulletproof glass in the Louvre.
6. Lo Sposalizio?

The Betrothal of the Virgin was painted in 1504. It hangs in the Brera Gallery in Milan, and is one of Raphael's first independent paintings.
7. Prophet Habakkuk?

Answer: Donatello

Also called 'Il Zuccone' (pumpkin head) because of the prophet's bald head, it was sculpted circa 1426.
8. The Virgin of the Rocks?

Answer: Leonardo

The Madonna's face in this painting shows interior wisdom. This painting was painted from 1503 to 1506 and hangs in the National Gallery, London, England.
9. Herod's Feast?

Answer: Donatello

This relief is one of two panels ordered for the Sienna Cathedral by Jacopo della Quercia. A horrified King Herod is shown receiving St. John the Baptist's severed head. Finished in 1427, this relief is built with the rules of perception, a new concept at the time.
10. Bacchus?

Answer: Michelangelo

Uncommon to Michelangelo, he carved this statue of a pagan origin. This was commissioned by Jacopo Galli in 1496-1497 to be put in his garden.
11. Battle of Anghiari?

Answer: Leonardo

This is one of Da Vinci's failures. It was to stand in the council hall of Florence, but bad weather, untried techniques and bad luck prevented it from actually being painted. What remain are Leonardo's sketches of this potentially great masterpiece.
12. The Burning of the Borgo?

Answer: Raphael

Painted in 1514, this fresco in the Vatican Palace in Rome, shows the big fire of the Borgo Veccio in Rome which was put out by Pope Leo IV by a benediction.
13. Prophet Jeremiah?

This life-sized marble statue stands next to the prophet Habakkuk in Florence.
14. Lady with an Ermine?

Answer: Leonardo

Painted circa 1485, this painting of Cecilia Gallarani hangs in Cracow, Poland. This is a picture of Ludovico Sforza's favorite mistress.
15. Moses?

Answer: Michelangelo

Around 1505 Michelangelo was approached by Pope Julius II to make him his tomb. Although interrupted by the Sistine Chapel project, he returned to sculpt Moses, and gave him horns because of a misinterpretation of a passage in the Bible.
16. The Penitent Magdalene?

Answer: Donatello

Sculpted around 1455, this 1.88 m. statue is made from wood with a gold leaf finish.
17. The Nymph Galatea?

Answer: Raphael

Amazingly, Rafael used no models for this fresco. Painted around 1513 in the Villa Farnesia in Rome, it shows Galatea and all her companions as Polyphemus sings her a love song.
18. Pope Leo X?

Answer: Raphael

An oil painting from 1518, Pope Leo X was Raphael's patron of the powerful Medici family.
19. St. Jerome?

Answer: Leonardo

This painting shows how well Leonardo knew and studied anatomy. Although now in the Vatican museum in Rome, the painting was once mislaid and cut in two. Later it was rescued and restored, but one can still see where it was cut.
20. Sculpture of The Entombment of Christ?

Answer: Donatello

Donatello made two reliefs of the Entombment. One, made out of stone circa 1449 is in Padua, the other, in bronze, is in a church in Florence.
21. The Dying Slave?

Answer: Michelangelo

Originally part of the tomb of Pope Julius II, this statue now stands in the Louvre in Paris.
22. The Annunciation? (the one in the Ufuzzi)

Answer: Leonardo

Completed by Leonardo when he was only 21 years old, it shows the Virgin Mary and an angel in an Italian background, probably the Florentine palace Leonardo was apprenticing in at the time.
23. The Martyrdom of St. Lawrence?

Answer: Donatello

This is a bronze relief in Florence, in the pulpit of San Lorenzo.
24. School of Athens?

Answer: Raphael

In this fresco finished in 1510, Raphael depicts all of the great minds of ancient Greece. Aristotle and Plato in the center, Rafael cunningly inserts himself among the Greek thinkers.
25. Ginevra Benci?

Answer: Leonardo

An oil painting of early Da Vinci work, the bottom was probably cut off. On the back is the motto "Beauty adorns Virtue".
