Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was the first Turtle to sing in the show?

Answer: Raph

Raph was the first Turtle to sing as the Turtles rose up from under the stage. The first song was "Out of our Shells", which the tour was named for. The other three Turtles each were featured as background singers on that song.
2. Among the four Turtles, who was the band's lead singer?

Answer: Raph

The reason that Raph was the first to be featured singing was that he was the one featured singing most often. While all four Turtles had singing parts, Raph was featured on more than half the tracks as the lead vocalist. When not singing, Raph also played guitar.
3. All four Turtles wore armbands with their first initial on them on their left arms.

Answer: True

Despite wearing their colored bandanas, producers were worried that young children might not recognize the Turtles. None of them carried their weapons, so instead their initials were added to their costumes.

The armbands matched the color of the bandana each Turtle wore.
4. Which Turtle played the bass guitar in the band?

Answer: Leo

Leonardo, the team leader when they were fighting crime, took a backseat to Raph as the leader of the band. Leo put down his dual katanas in exchange for the bass guitar and occasional vocalist work.

Leo wore a blue bandana and had a glistening star over his eye when performing.
5. Which Turtle played the keyboard and did much of the sound mixing for the band?

Answer: Don

When practicing Ninjutsu Don was the master of the Bo Staff. He put that down to focus on learning the keyboard. His nerdy tendencies still show through, though, as he built the instruments and continued to invent things as the band was taking off.
6. During the song "Pizza Power" what was the food described as?

Answer: A flying saucer

The lyrics talked about growing up in a glass bowl, with other animals including a tadpole.

The song went on to complain about the food the petshop Turtles were fed. Then when talking about pizza, the lyrics were, "But pizza power a flying saucer food delight".
7. Which villain other than Shredder appeared in the stage show?

Answer: Baxter Stockman

In the animated series Baxter was turned into a mutant fly. For the sake of this play, though, he was still just a human scientist. He served as Shredder's assistant and the person who designed the gadgets to help defeat the Turtles and steal all of the music in the world.
8. Giant snapping turtles were included as background dancers during several songs.

Answer: False

The animals used as background dancers were crocodiles. They appeared only during the song "Tubin". Mikey was the lead singer on the song.
9. Which Turtle became a rapper during part of the show?

Answer: Mike

He announced his name was MC Angelo. The rap name was a play on both his name of Michelangelo and MC Hammer. MC Hammer was featured in the second live action "Ninja Turtles" movie and performed on the soundtrack for the same film.
10. What U.S. national restaurant chain sponsored the entire run of the stage show, in exchange for heavy placement in the production and marketing materials of the performances?

Answer: Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut, one of the largest pizza restaurants in the United States at the time, was the titular sponsor of the show. The logo for the chain appeared on all of the marketing fliers and all of the pizza boxes and other similar props in the production had the Pizza Hut logo.
