1. In "The Mysterious Affair at Styles", what flowers had been planted, before the murder?

Answer: Begonias

"The Mysterious Affair at Styles" was Agatha Christie's first published work. It revolves around the mysterious death of Emily Inglethorp. Her second husband is suspected of poisoning her evening medicine. It is also Hercule Poirot's first case in England.
2. In "The Secret Adversary", what was Tuppence Cowley's real name?

Answer: Prudence

Prudence meets up with an old school friend, Tommy Beresford. They are both short of money, and decide to form "Young Adventurers", who are willing to do anything and go anywhere. Of course, they get more than they bargain for, in Christie's second published novel. This is the first appearance of Tuppence and Tommy Beresford.
3. In "Murder on the Links", where does Captain Hastings first meet Dulcie Duveen?

Answer: On a train

Captain Hastings is now a private secretary to a MP. Poirot gets an urgent message from France from Monsieur Renauld, begging for help. But when Poirot and Hastings arrive in France, he is dead.

"The Man in the Brown Suit" is narrated by two main characters - Anne Beddingfeld, a young woman, and Sir Eustace Pedler, M.P. Anne witnesses someone been pushed onto a railway and killed. Anne goes to investigate in South Africa.

The story concerns political unrest in Herzoslovakia and the blackmailing of a widow. It takes place at Chimneys, in England. Some of the characters in this book will reappear in "The Seven Dials Mystery".

Answer: In a pond

This is one of Poirot's most well known mysteries. Poirot is living in King's Abbot, growing vegetable marrows, when the local squire, Roger Ackroyd, is murdered. Instead of Captain Hastings, Poirot is assisted by the local doctor, Doctor Sheppard.
7. In "The Big Four", a stranger enters Poirot's rooms. He tells Poirot and Captain Hastings about a criminal gang, "The Big Four". How does he describe "Number Four"?

Answer: "The Destroyer"

This book is more like a serial, with various short stories, all connected with "The Big Four". Poirot and Hastings have to unmask "Number Four" before it is too late. We also get to see Countess Vera Rossakoff, a criminal, who Poirot is very fond of. She appears in a few other Poirot short stories.
8. In "The Mystery of the Blue Train", where did Rufus Van Aldin meet his secretary, Major Knighton?

Answer: Switzerland

The millionaire's daughter, Ruth Kettering - the daughter of Rufus Van Aldin - is found dead on the Blue Train. Her precious necklace, nicknamed "The Heart of Fire", has also disappeared. The story takes place in both England and France. Ruth was planning to divorce her husband, Derek, and meet her lover in Paris.
9. In "The Seven Dials Mystery", whereabouts is the Seven Dials?

Answer: London

Lady Eileen "Bundle" Trent reappears in this novel, with several other familiar names from "The Mystery at Chimneys". The book concerns a secret society and two mysterious deaths. Bundle is going to get married by the end of the book. Superintendent Battle plays a big part in the novel.
10. In "The Murder at the Vicarage", how fast is the Vicar's study clock kept?

Answer: 15 minutes

This is Miss Jane Marple's first time in a novel. It is believed that the character of Caroline Sheppard (out of "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd") was the forerunner of Miss Marple. The local colonel of St. Mary Mead - Colonel Protheroe - is not popular. It is not a surprise when he is found dead in the Vicar's study. Luckily, Miss Marple lives right next door to the vicarage.
