2. What was found on the body in 'A Study in Scarlet'?

Answer: A wedding ring

The message in blood was written ABOVE the body on the wall. It was the word 'Rache', German for 'Revenge'.

It never made it to Australia. It was involved in Holmes' very first case.

The SECOND most interesting thing Holmes saw was a horseshoe that mimicked the tracks of cows. He found it more interesting that he got paid a nice big cheque. He was, after all, a poor man. (His words, not mine.)

The air gun was also used to try to kill Sherlock Holmes, except that it targeted a wax dummy of Holmes instead.

In this mystery, Holmes catches a German spy who was able to predict that the war would start August 1914.

Suffice it to say, he earned more money as a criminal mastermind.

He was thrown into the Reichenbach Falls by Holmes after a fight to the death struggle.

Answer: none

Yup, he never said it in the original stories. He said, 'Elementary', and he said 'My dear Watson' upon occasion but never the two together.
