Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Enhances the physical attributes of a person's body.

Answer: Pewter

Burning Pewter gives the user increased speed, strength and durability. Very useful for combat, running extreme distances and to survive near fatal attacks, it's an alloy of lead (9%) and tin (91%). Allomancers who can burn only one metal are known as Mistings, while those who can burn them all are Mistborns. Mistings who burn Pewter are known as Thugs and Hammond, a friend and part of Kelsier's crew, was one.
2. Able to soothe another person's or a group of people's emotions, thus manipulating their emotions.

Answer: Brass

Other people's emotions are soothed when an Allomancer burns Brass near them. The Allomancer cannot read the subject's mind or emotions, he or she can just manipulate them to whatever they want. Mistings burning Brass are called Soothers. Breeze from Kelsier's crew is one, and the Ministry also has a large presence of Soothers spread throughout Skaa dwellings in the city of Luthadel in order to prevent a general Skaa rebellion.
3. Enhances the five senses i.e Hearing, Smell, Touch, etc.

Answer: Tin

Burning Tin enhances all five senses and a Misting who can burn Tin is called a Tineye. This has applications in stealth missions and for being a lookout. Kelsier's deceased wife Mare was a Tineye, as well as Spook, who is Club's nephew.
4. Allows a person to detect when other people are using Allomancy near them.

Answer: Bronze

Burning Bronze enables the user to detect other Allomancers nearby when they burn metals. The location of the Allomancer, metal being used by the Allomancer and to even to what extent the metal is being used can be discovered. A Misting Bronze burner is known as a Seeker. Marsh, who is Kelsier's brother, is one.

The Ministry also employs a lot of seekers, and pairs them up with Soothers around the Skaa dwellings in Luthadel.
5. Reveals your own present self in the form of a shadow if you had made different choices in your past.

Answer: Gold

By burning Gold, your present form gets revealed in the form of a shadow if you had made different choices in the past. A Misting Gold burner is known as an Augur.

Burning Gold is not advisable for Allomancers as it may cause emotional trauma, as Vin found the hard way out when she used Gold for the first time in the presence of Kelsier.
6. Can briefly gaze into the future and is a very precious metal in the Final Empire.

Answer: Atium

Atium is the most valuable resource in the Final Empire and burns very quickly as well. It allows an Allowancer to see a few seconds into the future, making it very useful in combat. The only known counter to a person using Atium is to burn it yourself, as they will cancel each other out. Misting Atium burners are appropriately called Seers.

An alloy of Gold and Atium known as the Eleventh Metal (Malatium) was instrumental in defeating the Lord Ruler for good by Vin.
7. Intensifies the emotions of another person or a group of people.

Answer: Zinc

An opposite effect to Bronze takes place - instead of soothing emotions, they are inflamed, which can be used to incite people to riot. This explains why Misting Zinc users are known as Rioters. As with Bronze, reading minds or emotions itself is not possible.
8. Forms an invisible cloud which shields the users of Allomancy from seekers (Allomancy detectors).

Answer: Copper

When Copper is burnt, it creates an invisible cloud over an area and within this area other Allomancers, including the user of Copper, can burn metals without being detected by seekers via their Allomantic pulses i.e. Bronze burners. A side benefit of Copper is that the one burning Copper is immune to any emotional Allomancy being used against him or her. Mistings who burn Copper are known as Smokers and Clubs, who hid Kelsier and his crew from the Lord Ruler and his ministry in his carpenter shop, was one.
9. Enables pulling other sources of nearby metals towards yourself.

Answer: Iron

Burning Iron enables a person to see semi-transparent blue lines pointing to other nearby sources of metals. If the metal is heavier than the user, then the user is pulled towards the metallic object but if the user is lighter, then the user can pull that metal towards himself or herself. Mistings who can burn Iron are known as Lurchers.
10. Enables one to push other nearby sources of metals away from you.

Answer: Steel

Like Iron, burning Steel also produces those blue lines pointed towards nearby sources of metals. However, Steel is a pushing metal, whereas Iron was a pulling metal. This means that objects like coins which weigh less than a normal Allomancer can be used as weapons, since you can push away a lighter object from yourself towards a target. Misting Steel burners are known as Coinshots for this reason, plus the coins can also be used to fly if the Allomancer places the coin against the ground and then pushes it. Kelsier was used to doing this many times to fly in the air.
