This is the first time the reader meets John, who also appears in four of the five Vicky Bliss titles.

There would be no trouble telling these heroines apart. Vicky is very tall, statuesque and blonde; a Viking Goddess type. She is the youngest. Amelia has a trim figure and "jetty" black hair, which might be touched with grey. She is in her late twenties in the first book, and must be in her fifties by now. Jacqueline is in her forties.
