Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Complete this title: Whose ______?

Answer: Body

"Whose Body" was Ms. Sayers' first mystery, and introduces Lord Peter Wimsey, who, much to the despair of his family, has taken up crime-solving as a hobby. In this book, he must discover the murderer of an unknown corpse that is found in a man's bathtub one morning.
2. ______ of Witness

Answer: Clouds

Lord Peter's brother and sister, Gerald and Mary, play a part in this one. Mary, out for a midnight stroll, comes across Gerald bending over her fiance's body, and his hands are soaked in blood. Would Gerald really kill his sister's fiance? It seems that way at first, but Lord Peter is bound and determined to clear his brother's name, for after all, Gerald is "a decent old idiot".
3. "Unnatural _____"

Answer: Death

This book introduces Miss Climpson, an elderly lady that Lord Peter employs as a spy sometimes.
4. "Thrones, _________"

Answer: Dominations

Ms. Sayers began this book, about Peter and Harriet's married life after "Busman's Honeymoon", but never finished it. Jill Walsh completed this excellent book, and it was published in 2001.
5. "______ Poison"

Answer: Strong

After a violent quarrel with his lover, Harriet Vane, Phillip goes home and has even more violent stomach pains, with excessive vomitng. It appears that Harriet poisoned his coffee while he was at her flat, but Lord Peter isn't so sure. As he falls in love with Harriet, he tries to find out who the real murderer is.
6. "____ Red Herrings"

Answer: Five

Against the lush backdrop of Scotland, Lord Peter tries to hunt down the murderer of a not very well-liked man. Not one of Sayers' better mysteries, but Lord Peter's brilliance still bleeds through the pages.
7. "Murder Must ______"

Answer: Advertise

A very cleverly written book, and possibly one of my favourites. Victor Dean, copywriter of Pym's Publicity Ltd., an advertising agency, dies when he falls down the stairs at Pym's. It appears to be an accident, except for the note that Dean wrote just before he died. So, Mr. Pym, the owner of the agency, decides to hire Lord Peter Wimsy to be an undercover agent to investigate the case.

The complicated plot, involving blackmail, cocaine, and the mistress of Victor Dean, is spellbinding.
8. "_____ Night"

Answer: Gaudy

Featuring Harriet Vane again. Harriet goes to a class reunion at Oxford University, but some strange things are going on. Students and teachers alike are receiving unpleasant, threatening letters, and the "Poison-Pen", as the letter writer is called, must be caught.

In rushes Lord Peter in a blaze of glory to make sure no one is killed. Good thing he did, because Harriet comes perilously close to being strangled to death. In this one, Lord Peter pops the question to Harriet again, and she finally says yes!
9. "Lord Peter _____ the Body"

Answer: Views

This is a collection of short stories about Lord Peter, and they are all thrilling.
10. "Busman's ________"

Answer: Honeymoon

It seems that Lord Peter can't escape murder, even on his honeymoon! When he and Harriet go to a cottage for their honeymoon, they find the lodge-keeper dead in the cottage. And now Lord Peter must find the murderer, with Harriet's help. Thanks for playing my quiz :-)
