Lorenzo the Kind was beheaded by 'Old Stoneface', an ancestor of Sam Vimes. This is the reason the Vimes family crest has been withdrawn by the College of Heralds.

von Morecombe has been the Ramkin family lawyer for over 400 years. He is described as having 'dead eyes', being 'very pale' and having a neck like a tortoise. This doesn't come as too much of a surprise when you know he is a Vampire.

Arthur inherited the title, and vampirism, or so he believed. Arthur seems to be a great believer in family tradition, which may explain his disposition to wear black, and speak with what he thinks is an 'Uberwald' accent. He also finds it difficult to shave because he can't see his face in the mirror.

The rest of Nanny's family make an appearance when an emergency occurs. Such as when Nanny wants the floor washed.

Duke Bottomley is a farm worker who helps out with the harvest on Miss Flitworth's farm in "Reaper Man." The current Patrician , Havelock Vetinari, has held the post for all of the events chronicled in the books, with the exception of part of "Night Watch."

They are one and the same. 'Mayonnaise' Quirke was kicked out by Keel. He then joined the Day watch and fairly quickly rose to the rank of Captain. He was called 'Mayonnaise' because he was thick, oily and smelt of eggs.

Answer: Minty

Carrot's then girlfriend was Minty Rocksmacker. Carrot was sent to the City partly to get him out of Minty's life. Ruby was a troll waitress who had a profound effect on Detritus and may have been responsible for him joining the Watch. Reet was a lady of the streets who was rescued from robbers by Carrot.

Herrena the Henna Haired Haridan was an adventuress who appeared in "Light Fantastic" and "Eric".

Vorbis had the Turtle made after his return from Ephebe. It was made of metal and had a fire lit underneath to slowly cook the poor unfortunate victim. The Tortoise was the shape of The Great God Om during most of the book. The Eagle was how Om was delivered to the Temple garden where Brutha was working, (he was dropped from a great height, an eagle's way of getting its lunch). The Ox was one of the past shapes of Om when he had more believers than just Brutha.
