Ritsuka is twelve and Seimei is seventeen. That makes Ritsuka the younger. He looks up to his older brother greatly, and his death is quite a shock to him.

Ritsuka is the victim of a severe memory loss. After his memory loss, Ritsuka becomes a different person. His mother refuses to recognize him as her son and wants the 'real Ritsuka' to come back. Ritsuka believes that the fact that he is not his mother's Ritsuka is a sin, a sin that has to be punished.

Beloved is Seimei's real name, not Ritsuka's. Ai and Midori form the team of Breathless. Gin and Kinka are Sleepless. Ai and Midori are sent to retrieve Ritsuka in the first volume. They refer to him as "Loveless". Soubi explains to Ritsuka that it is his true name. Though he hates it, Ritsuka uses the name to sign into Wisdom Resurrection, since his name and his initials were in use already.

Ritsuka's school history is revealed in the beginning of volume two. His teacher, Shinonome-Sensei, is looking through his old school reports. She realizes that the change in Ritsuka occurs in the end of the fourth grade, after his tenth birthday. In addition to becoming distant, his grades greatly improved from his average grades.

Soubi first says, "I love you" to Ritsuka in volume one. He repeats it numerous times throughout the series. Ritsuka does not like hearing those words, especially knowing that Soubi only says it because Seimei told him to feel that way.

Yoji and Natsuo do not attend Ritsuka's school. Yayoi doesn't like Ritsuka when they first meet, but Ritsuka grows on him and they become friends later on. Yuiko wants to be friends with Ritsuka from the beginning, but he thinks she's an idiot. They become friends shortly before Yayoi makes his debut in the series.

Yamato passes Ritsuka's school when he is in class. She waves at him and prompts him to leave school and meet her. They go to a coffee house to talk. Ritsuka does not like coffee, but he gets it anyway.

Yuiko goes to Ritsuka's current school. Yamato is in high school, and Nagisa is a teacher at Seven Voices Academy. Osamu comes to visit Ritsuka in an extras chapter in volume four. Osamu loves taking pictures of plants and animals, according to Ritsuka. Meanwhile, he prefers pictures of people. Osamu strangely has many pictures of Ritsuka and sends one to Yuiko.

Answer: Soubi

Natsuo shows up in volume three, but he and Ritsuka do not meet until volume four. Ritsuka meets Koya in volume four, as well. Inside a video game, Ritsu appears inside an online game in volume five. He appears in person in volume eight. Ritsuka meets Soubi in volume one, and therefore meets Soubi first.

Ritsuka's hair is colored black in the manga. On the front and back covers of each book, however, his hair changes colors. On the covers, his hair varies anywhere from red to dark brown.

Ritsuka states this opinion in the beginning of volume six. He says, "I'm not fond of guys who smoke. It stings my eyes ... and covers up their scent ... always." Ironically, Ritsuka loves and is often around Soubi, who is a smoker.

After the girls in their class ruin Yuiko's jar of jam, Ritsuka confronts them. After hearing him yell at then, Sensei tells him not to be so mean to his friends. Later in the 'guidance room', Sensei, Ritsuka, and Yuiko are talking. Ritsuka says that he believes that emotional pain is worse. He says that emotional pain lasts, but physical injuries can heal. This occurs in volume two.

Answer: Seimei

Ritsuka comes to this conclusion in volume three. He believes that there are seven members of Septimal Moon, because "Septimal" means seven. But according to his questioning of Seven the night before, there are six members alive. One is missing. Ritsuka thinks that Seimei is the missing member. Ritsuka knows that Seimei has been killed by Septimal Moon (according to the elder brother's will).

Therefore, Seimei was killed by people he worked with.

Answer: Soubi's name

In his dream, Ritsuka tries to get into the room Seimei is in and save him. Someone tells him to stand back, and it is revealed that it is Soubi. Soubi then breaks open the door and offers to save him. After being awoken by Yuiko, Ritsuka reflects back on his dream.

He thinks 'your name is the one I wanted to call'. These words are accompanied by a picture of Soubi. This dream appears in the end of volume three.

In volume one, Yuiko points out to Ritsuka that he is completely different when their Sensei is not around. Ritsuka says that he just hates when adults worry about him. When Yuiko says that it's as if he's a completely different person, he is reminded of his mother. Ritsuka tells her to never say that again, and runs away.
