After an imagined betrayal by Fran and Stu and his seduction by Nadine, Harold builds a homemade bomb to blow up the Free Zone Committee, then flees with Nadine. Along the way to join Flagg, he has a motorcycle crash and Nadine leaves him to die.

In great pain and seeing the error of what he's done, he apologizes in a note and takes his own life.
