"The Education of Little Tree" Quiz

Little Tree lived with his grandmother and his grandfather in the mountains. His father died and his mother died shortly after his father did. With no one else to live with, Little Tree went to live with his grandparents and his grandparents had a lot of dogs.

Little Tree would go to where Wales would make his whiskey and Little Tree would help his grandfather with the whiskey. When Wales and Little Tree were at work, if they were to see their dog known as Blue Boy show up, it would mean that Blue Boy was there to warn them that a stranger was at the cabin which was where they lived.

Little Tree was a young Indian boy who belonged to the Cherokee Indian tribe. His grandmother was pure Cherokee and his grandfather was half Cherokee.

Little Tree got the calf from a Christian who sold it to him for less than a dollar. When Little Tree and his grandfather were on their way back to their cabin, the calf died when they sat down to take a rest. So, Little Tree's grandfather cut the hide off of the calf and told Little Tree to give it to his grandmother. He did, and she made him a pair of moccasins out of it.

When Little Tree and his grandparents would go to church, they would find Willow John waiting by a tree. Bonnie Bee and Wales were good friends with Willow John and Little Tree became a good friend of him too. One day, while Little Tree was at church, he put a frog in Willow John's jacket.

The reason why he put it in his jacket was because it was tradition for the Cherokee Indians to give presents to other people by leaving it for them to find. When they were in church, the frog made the sound that frogs make and everyone turned around to see what it was.

One day, when Little Tree and Wales went fishing, Little Tree turned his head at the sound of a rattling sound and he discovered a rattlesnake right next to him and it was reading to strike. Wales jumped on his grandson and put his hand up and the snake bit Wales on the hand.

After Wales killed the poisonous devil, Little Tree ran home and got his grandmother for help because Wales was about to die because of the venom. Bonnie Bee took off and Little Tree followed her and when she got to her husband, she saved his life.

Little Red was just one of the hound dogs that Bonnie Bee, Wales and Little Tree had. Some of the other dogs that they had were Blue Boy, ol' Rippitt and ol' Maud.

The reason why the law took Little Tree away from basically the only family he ever knew was because the law thought that Bonnie Bee and Wales were too old to be able to educate him. The law forced Wales to take his grandson to a bus station and a woman came and picked him up and had him get on the bus.

He was taken to an orphanage where he was practically forced to stay at. Not long after he was sent to the orphanage, Wales went to the orphanage and took him back home.

When Little Tree was at the orphanage, he continued to stare at the Dog Star in the sky and he would think about Bonnie Bee, Wales, Willow John and his dogs at home.

Near the end of the story, Wales died and then Bonnie Bee died shortly after him. After their death, Little Tree left home and took Blue Boy and Little Red with him since they were the only dogs he had left that were alive. He went and got a job working on a farm but before he got the job, Little Red died.

Then, he quit his job and took a horse that he bought and he started to head east. That was when Blue Boy died, and Little Tree was on his own.
