Before being killed by Throckwaddle in the first chapter of the series Garkin had taken in Skeeve as a likely apprentice.

2. Early in the series, Skeeve meets a bumbling Demon Hunter, later turned Magician. What is his name?

Luckily Quigley is not one of the most intelligent characters Skeeve runs across in his adventures.
