"The Secret Adversary" is the first book to feature Tommy and Tuppence, the young private investigators. However Tuppence is Prudence Cowley in this book, she is married to Tommy in the next book. This novel concerns secret papers and espionage.

Answer: Betty

Betty helps in the mystery, although she is only a little girl. "N or M?" was written at the same time as "The Moving Finger". The book takes place during World War II.

The story takes place in Leahampton, a seaside resort in England. Although Tuppence was told to stay at home while Tommy was on a secret mission, Tuppence followed him under a false name.

Tommy and Tuppence eventually learn that the house used to be a hide-out for criminals. Agatha got the title of this novel from "Macbeth". There are several murders in this book with an overdose of morphine.
