However his ex is a storm chaser, one of those crazy scientists who risk life and limb as they try to gain a better understanding of tornadoes. Bill finds himself drawn back into the thrill of the chase, and soon nothing is cut and dried anymore.

Melvin is an obsessive compulsive, and Carol is the only waitress who can serve him to his satisfaction. When Carol misses a lot of work because of her son's sickness, Melvin steps in to help with her son, so she can get back to work. However he ends up falling in love. This exchange takes place when they are out for dinner, and Carol is ready to get up and walk out on him.
Kinnear plays Melvin's neighbour whose misfortunes touch Carol's heart, and end up helping Melvin make great strides in becoming more pleasant.

After seeing her husband brutally murdered, Betty Sizemore literally hides within her favourite soap opera. She believes herself to be one of the characters from the show, and sets out to find her fiancé (a doctor from the same show, played by Greg Kinnear). Meanwhile, her husband's killers (played by Morgan Freeman and Chris Rock) are following her.

They are in pursuit of the trunk load of drugs that her husband stole, and she doesn't know that she has. This exchange occurs between Betty and a real Chief Nurse, as Betty tries to locate the hospital where her 'doctor' fiancé works. Of course the hospital is as fictional as the fiancé.

Wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife and her lover, Andy Dufresne spends 20 years being the model prisoner, while helping to make life easier for the other prisoners. Meanwhile he is slowly and meticulously tunneling his way out of prison, a feat which takes him most of the 20 years.
Fellow prisoner and friend, Red, serves as a narrator throughout most of the movie. This quote is part of Red's narration after Andy makes good his escape.

Ron Howard's film about the ill-fated Apollo 13 moon mission tells the true story of a nearly fatal disaster in space, where an explosion in an oxygen tank crippled the ship, and made it very difficult to get the astronauts home alive.

Nicolas Cage plays one of the many angels that surround us at all times, according to the premise of the film. While waiting in an operating room to help escort the patient to Heaven, Cage connects with the surgeon, played by Meg Ryan. An interesting friendship soon blossoms into romance, and Cage chooses mortality, in order to be with his newfound love.
This quote occurs near the end of the movie, after Maggie is killed riding her bike, leaving Cage alone and very much mortal.
