1. (1996) When a former altar boy with blood on his hands, played by Edward Norton, is caught running away from the brutal murder of the bishop, it seems like an open and shut case. Attorney Martin Vail, played by Richard Gere, initially takes the case for the publicity, but soon begins to believe in his client's innocence, and in his claim that there was someone else in the room with him.
2. (2003) No self-respecting thief should have to steal the same gold bullion twice, but that is what happens to this gang when they are betrayed by one of their own, played by Edward Norton. Charlize Theron plays the daughter of the man killed by Norton, who has signed on for a spot of revenge. They manage to exact their revenge, and get their gold back by driving their Mini Coopers around the massive traffic jam that they have created by tapping into the city's computers.
3. (2003) Charlize Theron took home an Oscar for her performance as real-life prostitute Aileen Wuornos, who was executed for murdering 7 men in Florida in the '80s. Christina Ricci played Selby, the young woman who both showed Wuornos the first love she had ever known, and also pushed her to continue being a prostitute in order to support her.
4. (1999) In the year 1799 Katrina Van Tassle, played by Christina Ricci, helps young Constable Ichabod Crane, played by Johnny Depp. They need to solve a series of bizarre murders, where the victims have all been decapitated. All logic to the contrary, evidence strongly suggests that the murderer is a mysterious headless horseman.
5. (2004) Mort Rainey, played by Johnny Depp, is a man who has hit rock bottom. He found his wife in the arms of another man, he's run out of ideas to write about, and a violent stranger, played by John Turturo, has accused him of plagiarizing his story. As the body count rises, Mort makes a few rather disturbing discoveries about himself.
6. (2000) John Turturo and George Clooney are two of a trio of convicts who have escaped from jail and are on their way to find some buried treasure, or so Clooney's character (with his own hidden agenda) has led the other two to believe. Along the way they encounter a series of bizarre characters, in a quest that's loosely based on Homer's 'Odyssey'. The highlight of the movie is the rousing song, performed on film, by the Soggy Bottom Boys.
7. (2001) Danny, played by George Clooney, and ten of his hand-picked colleagues, including a character played by Brad Pitt, take on the seemingly impossible task of robbing three Las Vegas casinos, simultaneously. It so happens that the casinos are all owned by the same man, and the fact that he's dating Danny's ex-wife has absolutely nothing to do with him being chosen as the target...uh huh!
8. (2001) Jerry Welbach, played by Brad Pitt, works for a mob boss, and his boss wants him to take an antique gun back across the border into Mexico. Meanwhile his girlfriend, played by Julia Roberts, wants him to stop being a criminal, so that they can settle down. The gun is supposed to carry an ancient curse, and Welbach begins to believe it when his girlfriend is held hostage by a hit man who wants to make extra sure that the gun gets to where it belongs.
9. (2001) Kiki, played by Julia Roberts, is personal assistant to her movie star sister Gwen, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones. Gwen and her ex-husband, Eddy, had at one time won the hearts of their adoring public, both on screen and off. But then Gwen had an affair and Eddy had a nervous breakdown. Now they have to get together one more time, to help promote their last movie together - a movie that the director is refusing to release until he's good and ready.
10. (2002) Catherine Zeta-Jones plays the notorious Velma Kelly singer, dancer and murderess in prohibition Chicago, where anything goes. Richard Gere is the sleazy lawyer Billy Flynn, who's willing to go to any length to win. Billy makes quite a name for himself defending all the little 'jazz killers' of the time, in this entertaining musical that won six Oscars, including Best Picture.
