Then the scientist created another giant bat and released it.

They tried to help by "fixing" the store records, but the owner accused the prisoners of stealing a wooden box, which the prisoners used to keep a poisonous snake. The owner took the box into another room while the prisoners discussed warning him. Later, the owner's dead body was found.

The unseen snake had bitten the owner off camera.

The scientist (Bela Lugosi) zapped him with atomic energy hoping to turn him into a super strong man, but the man died. The man's body was thrown to an octopus.
