"Breakfast at Tiffany's" starred George Peppard, Audrey Hepburn (Holly Golightly), Mickey Rooney and Cat. Truman Capote, who wrote the original novella, had wanted Marilyn Monroe as Holly but was overruled. It's not known whether he had any views on who should play Cat.

The plot of "From Russia With Love" involves a defecting Russian, SPECTRE, an encryption device, fights, deaths and a beautiful woman. Heck, what did you expect from a Bond movie?

It has been suggested that, if the cat lost a life with Blofeld in "For Your Eyes Only", it might now be named Octopussy.

He joins a band of rebels led by the charismatic Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne). The movie won four Oscars for sound, effects (two) and editing.

Answer: Fritz the Cat

The movie was based upon a comic strip by Robert Crumb and is based upon life in America in the late 60s and early 70s. It includes sex, drugs, more sex, more drugs and, did I mention sex and drugs? In other words, there's plenty to justify its rating.

6. It's 2004. Kitty Kyle has come across a strange creature. It's a ginger cat that walks upright in boots, wears a cape and sports a large black hat with a yellow feather. The cat's called Puss and accompanies a donkey called Donkey. What is the film called?

Answer: Shrek 2

In "Shrek 2", Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) is an assassin hired by King Harold (John Cleese) to eliminate Shrek (Mike Myers). After this fails, the plot revolves around love potions, love rivals and, ultimately, whether it's better to be human or ogre.

Puss in Boots reappeared in "Shrek the Third" (2007) and a spin-off movie, "Puss in Boots: Story of an Ogre Killer", is planned for 2011.

7. It's 1997. Here's Kitty Kyle with a cat called Mr Bigglesworth. He's on the lap of a bald man called Douglas but we're clearly still in the realm of absurd dress as there's another man who looks like he's walked straight out of the sixties. What is the film called?

This was the first in the series of Austin Powers films, themselves a spoof on the James Bond movies. His owner is Dr Evil who, in "Austin Powers in Goldmember", will be revealed as Powers' brother, Douglas.

In "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery", the secret agent Austin Powers (Mike Myers) is returned to active duty, having been cryptogenically frozen for three decades. He has to save the world from the plans of Dr Evil (also Mike Myers) who is demanding a huge ransom in return for not detonating a nuclear weapon. Powers is aided by the beautiful Vanessa Kensington (Elizabeth Hurley) and has to contend with fembots, robots with sex appeal.

8. It's 1972. Kitty Kyle has found a stray cat that's lucky enough to have been called up to act in a movie. This is the opening scene of a film that spawned two sequels. The cat is sitting on the lap of a man called Don. What is the movie called?

Answer: The Godfather

Yes, he is really called Don Vito Corleone but I thought that Vito might be a little too obvious. "The Godfather" told the story of the Corleone family in the decade from 1945. The movie won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Actor (Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone) and Best Adapted Screenplay. Brando refused to accept his Oscar to draw attention to discrimination against Native Americans.

Mrs Norris is a cat belonging to the school's caretaker, Argus Filch.

Several characters in the series of movies are revealed to be animagi, humans capable of transforming into animals. As well as Minerva McGonagall, this ability is shared by James Potter (Stag), Sirius Black (Dog), Peter Pettigrew (Rat) and Rita Skeeter (Beetle).
