Alex was the nurse who was taking care of David while he recovered. We first saw Alex in David's hospital room. She was raising the blinds in his room. He called out his dead friend's name and she went to him. David had been in a coma for three weeks. Alex tended to David while he was recovering at the hospital. In one scene, Alex had to force feed David because he refused to eat. It was clear from that moment on that they were starting to like one another.

Jenny was born in 1952 in Somerset, England. She has acted in a great many films including "Child's Play 2" and "Logan's Run". Jenny was wonderful in "An American Werewolf in London". I found myself feeling sorry for her and her situation. It must have been horrible to find someone to love and then find out they were a werewolf.

Jack and David had just left the pub, The Slaughtered Lamb. The boys were told by the pub's patrons to stick to the road and beware of the moon. The boys got to talking about the patrons and went completely off the road. It wasn't until they heard the howling that they remembered the warnings.

The howling started to really frighten Jack and David so they decided to turn back and head for the pub. It was unfortunately too late as the wolf was upon them. The wolf first attacked and killed Jack. It started to attack David, but the pub patrons shot and killed it. David started to pass out, but before he did he turned his head and saw the wolf now turned back to a man.

Answer: The Muppet Show

David and his family were home for the night. We saw his dad with a newspaper and his siblings were watching "The Muppet Show" on television. David's mom was in the kitchen preparing dinner. There was a knock at the family's door and dad went to answer it. Dad opened the door and was blown away by a creature with a machine gun. One of the creatures grabbed David and held a knife at his throat. More masked creatures came in and killed his family. David was saved for last; he had his throat cut. This was all revealed to be a dream as David woke up in the hospital.

In the dream scene we saw Ms. Piggy and Kermit on the television screen. Ms. Piggy was making a comment about a "Punch and Judy" skit that was going on behind her. Kermit was telling Piggy that was the art of puppetry. The screen was then smashed by the masked creatures.

Answer: Rachel and Max

David was in a telephone booth in downtown London. He was making a call to his family in the United States. He told the operator to reverse the charges and that anyone could take the call. Rachel answered the call and told David their parents were not home. David told Rachel to give his love to their parents.

He told Rachel he loved her and their brother Max, too. David was saying goodbye to his family before he committed suicide. David hung up the phone and took out a knife. David put the knife to his wrist, but was unable to kill himself.

Answer: Outstanding Achievement in Makeup

The makeup effects in this movie were ahead of their time. Rick Baker, the makeup artist, along with his team did an outstanding job on this movie. According to Wikipedia, the award was created with the movie in mind. The makeup effects along with the animatronic parts inspired the category to be created in 1981.

Rick Baker has also won this award for "Harry and The Hendersons" and "Ed Wood" along with several other motion pictures. I can only imagine the genius it must take to come up with these effects. I can only imagine how proud Rick must have been to have an award especially created because of his work.

David walked Alex outside because she was leaving for work. David was wearing the NYU t-shirt that Alex wore the night before. David kissed Alex goodbye and she left for work. While David was watching Alex leave, two small girls with a dog walked up behind them.

The dog started to bark crazily at David. The two girls were laughing as the dog barked. The girls walked off with the dog as David stood in his shirt and jeans shivering in the cold London air. David went to go back inside and found the door to the apartment building was locked.

David was in the bathroom and he saw Jack's reflection in the mirror. Jack was in Alex's apartment trying to warn David. David and Jack went into the living room and sat down. Jack picked up a toy Mickey Mouse and mimicked Mickey's voice. David told Jack to put the toy down. Jack then told David he would turn into a werewolf the next full moon. Jack told David that he would have to kill himself to break the curse. He told David that was the only way because he would hurt people otherwise.

The Mickey, Minnie, and Donald toys were all in Alex's apartment. They looked fairly old and used. I can only assume they were from her childhood. She also had a rag doll in her bedroom. The doll was hanging off of her headboard.

Answer: Casablanca

Alex brought David home from the hospital, as he had no other place to go. Alex opened the door to her apartment and on the far back wall, we saw a framed poster of "Casablanca". Alex gave David a tour of the flat. When she got to the bedroom, David remarked there was only one bed, Alex told David she was not in the habit of bringing home young American men. David was about to lean in and kiss Alex, but Alex said she was going to shower. David waited and whistled for a few moments before he joined her in the shower.

"Casablanca" was released in 1942. It starred Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. This movie has so many memorable quotes associated with it. I love the movie and have watched it several times.

Gerald had just got off the subway and was purchasing something from a vending machine when he first heard the growling. He shouted that he did not find this amusing and was going to report this. Joe was frightened by the growling and walked swiftly off. Joe got on one escalator and still heard the growling. He moved a little faster and then he saw the wolf. The poster for an adult film was right behind him. Joe then ran and tripped onto the next escalator. We saw the wolf for the first time as it entered the platform. The wolf then got on the escalator and killed Joe.

Will Leighton played the well dressed and proper Englishman. David was later introduced to all his victims as the walking dead. David met Joe and the rest of his victims in an adult movie house. Joe told David that he had left his wife a widow and his children fatherless because of his attack. The movie that we saw advertised in the poster was being played in the theater.

David and Jack had just come in the pub from the cold night air. The men were both extremely cold and wanted something hot to eat or drink. The men tried to order hot soup, coffee, and hot chocolate, to which the barmaid all said "no" to. She told them she would make them some tea. The pub patrons eventually warmed up to Jack and David and started to tell jokes to the boys. Jack asked what the pentangle on the wall was for. The patrons went quiet and then told the boys to leave. The boys did so willingly and gladly, I can only imagine.

"An American Werewolf in London" is one of my favorite movies of all time. The acting and the special effects are what did it for me. The film was released in 1981 and was directed by John Landis. David Naughton starred as the boy turned into a wolf. Griffin Dunne starred as Jack, or what David liked to call "the human meatloaf". The soundtrack to this movie was incredible; almost all of the songs had the word "moon" in the title. According to Wikipedia, this movie was the inspiration for Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. John Landis also directed "Thriller".
