Jagger has had several movie roles ever since he and the Rolling Stones came to the US. He was in a British spy film called "Performance" (1970) and a western called "Ned Kelly" (1970). Bowie also was in several films including, "The Man Who Fell To Earth" (1976) and "The Last Temptation Of Christ" (1988). Jon Bon Jovi starred in such films as "Pay It Forward" and "U-571", both in 2000. Meatloaf was part of the cult classic, "Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1973).

John Denver recorded many Country and Western songs and starred in several movies but none of them were westerns. The movie he is most noted for is "Oh God" (1977) where he plays the disciple to George Burn's God. Elvis starred in three westerns including his first film, "Love Me Tender" (1956), "Flaming Star" (1960) and "Charro!" (1969). Ricky Nelson starred with John Wayne and Dean Martin in the 1959 western, "Rio Bravo". Fabian also starred with John Wayne in the 1959 western film, "North To Alaska".
3. Of the following singers, which was the first to win an Academy Award for acting?

During the 1960s Cher was putting out hit records with her then husband Sonny Bono, as the duo Sonny and Cher. They later had their own TV variety show. In 1983 she starred with Meryl Streep in the film "Silkwood" in which she was nominated for Supporting Actress but didn't win.

It was her starring role in "Moonstruck" (1988) which won her the Oscar for Best Actress. In 1979 Bette Midler was nominated for Best Actress in "The Rose" but lost to Sally Field for "Norma Rae". Madonna starred in "Evita" (1996) as Argentina's First Lady Eva Peron.

She won the Golden Globe for Best Actress but she wasn't nominated for an Oscar. In 1973 Supreme lead singer Diana Ross was nominated for her portrayal of singer Billy Holiday in "Lady Sings The Blues". She lost to Liza Minelli in "Cabaret".

Answer: Huey Lewis

Huey Lewis recorded the single "Power Of Love" (1985) which was created for the film. It became the first number one song for Huey Lewis and the News. In the film, Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) was auditioning with his band to perform at the prom. Huey Lewis appeared as the faculty member chosen to judge the bands to decide who gets to play at the dance.

While donning glasses, Hewey listens as the band plays "Power Of Love" after which he stops them and tells Marty, "I'm sorry fellows but you are just too darn loud". Flea (guitarist for Red Hot Chili Peppers) appeared in parts II and III as Douglas Needles, who antagonizes Marty. ZZ-Top appears in part III as a hillbilly band in 1885. Chuck Berry doesn't appear in the film but while Marty is on stage in 1955 at the prom, he replaces the guitar player whose name is Marvin Berry.

When Marty starts playing "Johnny Be Goode", Marvin calls up his cousin, Chuck Berry, and tells him that he found this new sound Chuck was looking for. The idea was that Chuck Berry got his start that way.

Richards, lead guitarist for the Rolling Stones was brilliant as the pirate father of Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp. He appeared in part III, "At World's End" (2007) and part IV, "On Stranger Tides" (2011). The others have appeared in other films and rock documentaries as well.

Yoakam was great as the brash, alcoholic boyfriend of the woman who takes in the Billy Bob character, Karl. Yoakam's character becomes very violent and abusive to the woman as well as her son. Karl, a convicted murderer who was released after doing his time in a mental hospital, befriends the boy Frank, played by Lucas Black and his mother lets Karl move in with them. Karl vows to protect the two and so later in the film he kills the Yoakam character and then calls the police confessing to the crime. Yoakam is one of country music's most successful artist selling more than 25 million records. I also found out that he is the most frequent musical guest to appear on "The Tonight Show".

He has also starred in other films including, "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" (1991), "Panic Room" (2003) and "Wedding Crashers" (2005).

Ice Cube played a character named Doughboy, because of his obesity who was friends with Tre, played by Cuba Gooding Jr. in his first major film role.

The film earned Singleton a directing Oscar nod. Ice-T, who was a popular rapper, first gained fame in the 1991 film "New Jack City" starring Wesley Snipes. Ice-T went on to star in the hit TV show, "Law & Order" (2000).

Nat King Cole played one of the singing narrators (with Stubby Kaye) in the 1965 Jane Fonda western film "Cat Ballou" in which Lee Marvin won for Best Actor.

It wasn't until 1987 that she won for "Moonstruck". Liza Minneli also did several films after becoming a singer but her first Best Actress Award wasn't until 1972 when she won for "Cabaret". Bing Crosby did several movies in the 1930s but his first win was for the 1944 Best Picture winner, "Going My Way" as he won for Best Actor.
