Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What movie contains Buttercup, a man with six fingers on one hand, and the words "Rodents of unusual size... I don't believe they exist."?

Answer: The Princess Bride

"The Princess Bride" was about a man and woman who have true love. Buttercup was born to a higher class than Wesley, yet that never stopped her from loving him. He had loved her since he first saw her, but was afraid to tell her so he always said "As you wish" when she asked him to do something, which stood for "I love you".

The six fingered man was an enemy of Inigo Montoya, a friend and companion of Wesley. The six fingered man murdered Inigo's father when Inigo was very young, so Inigo was seeking revenge. Wesley said the line, "Rodents of unusual size... I don't believe they exist," right before a ROUS attacked him.

He fought them off and he and Buttercup were safe... for a little while.
2. What movie contains Vivian, a businessman and the line "It's the best."?

Answer: Pretty Woman

"Pretty Woman" was the story of a hooker, Vivian, who worked for a businessman, Edward. He paid her $3,000 to work for a week, plus he bought her clothes and other things. Edward was afraid of heights yet stayed in the penthouse (the top floor). When Vivian asked him why he said, "It's the best." The two had fallen in love, but yet went their separate ways.

Then at the end Edward went to Vivian's place on the top floor. When he asked about it she replied back, "It's the best." The ending of this movie was beautiful. Edward said, "So what happens after he climbs up and rescues her?".

She replied, "She rescues him right back."
3. What movie would these clues lead you to: Sharks, three deaths, and the line "Te adoro Anton."?

Answer: West Side Story

"West Side Story" was a musical based on "Romeo and Juliet". There were two gangs - the Sharks and the Jets. The Jets were all white Americans, the Sharks were all Puerto Rican-Americans. Tony, one of the Jets, fell in love with Maria, a sister of the Shark named Bernardo.

They were talking about when they would get together when Maria got called inside by her father. Maria asked, "What does Tony stand for?" Tony replied, "Anton." She then said, "Te adoro, Anton." Tony then went to break up a rumble between the two gangs.

However, while trying to do this, Riff, the leader of the Jets, was killed by Bernardo. Tony saw this and went after Bernardo, not planning to kill him, but he accidentally did. Later on, Chino, Maria's boyfriend before Tony, came along, looking for revenge. Tony, who thought Maria no longer was alive, told Chino to come and get him. Just as Maria appeared, Chino fired a gun, killing Tony.
4. What movie are these clues from: John Wayne, a snake, and the line "Everything happens to me, now I'm shot by a child."?

They ended up in a snake pit, where Mattie (Baby Sister's actual name) got bitten by a snake. However, she managed to shoot Tom Chaney which is why he said, "Everything happens to me, now I'm shot by a girl."
5. Where would these clues come from: flying carpet, Rajah, and the line "All I gotta do is jump!"?

Answer: Aladdin

"Aladdin" was the story of a poor urchin who found a Genie's lamp. He also met a princess named Jasmine, only she was in disguise so he didn't know at first that she was the princess. Aladdin had a flying carpet on which he took Jasmine for a ride. During this ride they sang "A Whole New World" and we saw they were in love with each other. Rajah was Princess Jasmine's tiger, who for a long time was her only friend.

In the beginning of the movie, Aladdin, who was very poor, stole some food for him and his monkey, Abu.

They were being chased and the whole time he was singing "One Jump Ahead". The last line of the song was "All I gotta do is jump!".
6. What movie do these clues come from: watermelon, "The catch of the county", and the line, "Me, I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I did, of what I saw, of who I am, and most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you."?

Answer: Dirty Dancing

"Dirty Dancing" was a love story between a wealthy girl named Baby (Francis was her real name) and a poor man named Johnny. Johnny's cousin was bringing in watermelons where the employers and some of the guests were having a dance. They were dirty dancing.

He told Baby she couldn't come in, but she convinced him to let her. This was where she first met Johnny, and the first thing she said to him was, "I carried a watermelon." She then kicked herself realizing that was a dumb thing to say. Baby's parents wanted Baby to date Neil, who is very rich and very stuck up.

He told Baby, "I have to say it, I'm known as the catch of the county." Baby had no interest in Neil, and had fallen in love with Johnny. Johnny's friend and dance partner was impregnated by Robbie, who waited tables at Kellerman's, the place where the Housemans are staying. Baby got her father to come help Penny when it turned out the abortion was done by a random guy off the street who didn't know what he was doing. Penny was fine, but Dr. Houseman told Baby he didn't want her to see those people again.

She ignored her father and went to Johnny's cabin. He told her she's really brave, and that's when she told him the quote about being afraid of everything.
7. In what movie would you find these clues: trains, Oda Mae, and the line "Ditto."?

Answer: Ghost

"Ghost" was the story of a man who was killed in a robbery. At first Sam (the ghost) didn't know why he was left on Earth. Then he learned that he wasn't supposed to be killed, and that it was just supposed to be a robbery. He learned of Oda Mae Brown, who could hear ghosts but couldn't see them.

He told her she needed to go to his girlfriend Molly's house and warn her she's in danger. Molly didn't believe Oda Mae and Sam said, "Tell her I love her." Oda Mae did as asked and Molly replied, "Sam would never say that." So Sam told Oda Mae, "Ditto, tell her ditto." (Ditto was Sam's way of telling Molly he loved her).

When Molly heard this, she started to believe perhaps Oda Mae really was talking to Sam. The part about the trains was when Sam got on a train with another ghost and got the ghost to teach him how to move objects.
8. What movie do these clues come from: Peter Banning, Neverland, and the line, "He'll crow... he'll fight... and then he'll die."?

Answer: Hook

"Hook" was the story of Peter Pan (now Peter Banning) as a grown up with a wife and two children. Peter had become a lawyer and consequently never had time for his family. Then one day Captain Hook kidnapped Peter's children, forcing Peter to return to Neverland to save his children. Hook said, "He'll crow... he'll fight.. and he'll die," because when Peter was proud of himself he crowed, which the Lost Boys had to teach him how to do again because he'd forgotten all about being a boy in Neverland.

Then they had to teach him how to fight so he could face Captain Hook. Peter, with the help of the Lost Boys, was able to defeat Captain Hook and save his children.

He took them in the middle of nowhere and left them and they spent the rest of the movie trying to get back home. Along the way they met Thomas O'Malley, an alley cat, who helped them.

He introduced them to some other alley cats, including Scatcat, and they all sang "Everybody Wants to Be a Cat". Before they were kidnapped, Marie (the female kitten) was being bothered by her brother and she told him, "Ladies do not start fights, but they can finish them."
10. What movie do these clues lead to: prison, Velma Kelly, and the line "He had it coming."?

Answer: Chicago

Velma Kelly was one of the many women in prison in the musical movie "Chicago". The murderesses sang a song called "The Cell Block Tango" about why they killed the person they killed. Each time they said "He had it coming". Roxie Hart was in prison for killing her lover with whom she was cheating on her husband, Amos. She had the great lawyer Billy Flynn get her off, however.
