Answer: John Rambo

John Rambo is a Vietnam veteran trained in guerrilla warfare. He is a former green beret who won the Medal of Honour for his service but he suffers some serious flashbacks to a communist prison camp where he was tortured during the war.
A series of events in a hostile police station back home in America leads to him escaping into the nearby woods with the authorities attempting to recapture him.

The character was first played by Sylvester Stallone in "First Blood" in 1982.
Its huge success led to many sequels:
"Rambo: First Blood Part II" in 1985, "Rambo III" in 1988 and "Rambo" in 2008. "Rambo V" is scheduled for 2009.

John Clark is played by Willem Dafoe in "Clear and Present Danger".
Robert Downey Jr. plays Special Agent John Royce in "U.S. Marshals".
John Connor is from the "Terminator" movies and is played by different actors depending on his age.

Phoenix is 'thawed' for a parole hearing 2032 and escapes into what is now a crime free 21st century. He commences a murderous spree and Spartan is then thawed to help recapture him.
