He was being taken care of by a nurse in an Italian monastery and he recollected his life and love of a married woman, played by Kristin Scott Thomas. Colin Firth's character was killed when he found out about the affair. Kristin Scott Thomas is an understated British actress who starred in the films "Gosford Park" (2001), "The Golden Compass" (2007) and "The Other Boleyn Girl" (2008).
