Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. British exchange student, Michael Carrington, was introduced to the pupils of Rydell as "a straight-A student", immediately putting him on the back foot, much like his cousin before him. But who was his cousin?

Answer: Sandy Olsson

Poor Michael found himself in the spotlight from the get-go, as well-meaning headmistress, Miss McGee, announced his arrival, and his intelligence, to the entire school. However he did have one ally, in the form of Frenchy, who took him under her wing and looked out for him, mainly because he was the younger cousin of her good friend Sandy, (from the first "Grease" film). Nevertheless, Michael did spend much of the film as an outcast, and spent a large portion of his time alone.
2. What reason did former Pink Lady, Frenchy, give for returning to Rydell High School?

Answer: To get her Chemistry qualification in order to mix her own cosmetics

Frenchy, played by Didi Conn, was one of several characters from "Grease" to return for the sequel. The reason given for her return revolved around her desire to mix her own cosmetics, and thus she needed to pass her Chemistry exams. Throughout the film Frenchy was presented in in a maternal light, as she looked out not only for Michael, but also for the film's current batch of Pink Ladies.
3. Which 60's icon did Sharon model her 'look' on throughout the film?

Answer: Jackie Kennedy

At the beginning of the film, as the Pink Ladies stood by their lockers, Paulette questioned Sharon about her new look. Eagerly, Sharon explained that she was inspired by Jackie Kennedy, joking that "it only landed her a president". This prompted Paulette to retort with "Oh yeah? Well the magazines say that JFK secretly prefers the Marilyn Monroe look".
4. "___! You got a nose job?" Which Pink Lady's appearance caused this outburst from Frenchy, and thus belongs in the blank?

Answer: Rhonda

Having uttered the words, the "nose goes" at the beginning of the film, Rhonda had made it pretty clear that she was unhappy with it. Therefore midway through the film, when the girls were chatting to Frenchy in the Chemistry lab, the latter's comments were not really all that surprising, especially given the fact that Rhonda was sporting a plaster across her nose. Nevertheless, Rhonda denied having plastic surgery on her nose, and insisted instead that she had "walked into a door".
5. What Shakespearean tragedy did Stephanie write a sloppy essay on, thus prompting Michael to offer to help her rewrite it?

Answer: Hamlet

Midway through the film, English and Drama teacher, Miss Mason, asked Stephanie to stay back in order to discuss her "Hamlet" essay. Correctly inferring that Stephanie had written a poor essay, Michael seized his opportunity to spend time with her, by hanging back after class and offering to help her rewrite it. Stephanie agreed to consider Michael's offer, and did eventually agree, which saw the pair meet up and learn a little more about one and other, though Stephanie continued to make it clear that she did not intend to go out on a date with Michael.
6. Were goody two shoe twins featured in this particular film?

Answer: Yes

Despite being minor characters, the cheerleading twins were certainly memorable. Played by Jean and Liz Sagal, they came across as preppy, goody goodies, and appeared to have quite a strained relationship with the Pink Ladies. They did however, take a shine to Michael, and used their charm to convince him to play the piano for their segment of the talent show.
7. During Sharon and Louis' rendition of "Let's Do It For Our Country", which took place in a nuclear fallout shelter, the former, who believed that Louis was leaving to join the army, dressed up in what caregiver's costume?

Answer: Nurse

During the nuclear fallout shelter scene, Louis did everything in his power to convince Sharon to sleep with him, but despite his best efforts, Sharon firmly declined. Moreover for much of the scene, Sharon misunderstood Louis' intentions, and mistakenly believed that he was leaving to join the army, to fight for his country.

This was the very reason that Sharon dressed up as a nurse, as this tied in with the moment she expressed fear that Louis would get hurt. However just as the pair finished singing their duet, "Let's Do It For Our Country", Sharon eagerly reached for the door, only to find Goose and Davey lurking behind it.

In that instant, Louis' true intentions dawned on Sharon, who, mortified and disgusted in equal measure, made a hasty exit.
8. While announcing the T-Birds during the talent show, a clueless Miss McGee horrified Johnny by calling them by the wrong name. How did Miss McGee announce them to the audience?

Answer: T-Bones

Johnny and the rest of the T-Birds decided to enter the talent show in order to win the albums that were offered as prizes. They even went so far as to tie up a trio they considered to be their biggest competition, and thus prevented them from taking to the stage.

However Miss McGee did nothing to help their street cred, as she then introduced them to the crowd as the T-Bones, instead of the T-Birds.
9. Which children's game, which involves acting out clues, shares its name with a song sung by Michael during the latter half of the film?

Answer: Charades

Michael, (played by Maxwell Caulfield), sang the song "Charades" during the latter half of the film, while wandering through and around the school's crowded cafeteria. Disillusioned by his own charade, which involved pretending to be the "cool rider" biker desired by Stephanie, while simultaneously hiding his true identity, Michael longed to be loved for who he really was in reality.

Indeed at this point in the film, Michael seemed to have gotten himself in quite a pickle, and he really did not know if Stephanie would still be interested if he revealed his true identity.
10. Which irate Pink Lady squared up to Johnny at the talent show, referring to him as "Mr Push-Everyone-Around-Nogerelli", before then informing him that she had "been bullied" by him for the last time?

Answer: Paulette

Having been treated badly by Johnny throughout nearly the entire film, Paulette finally turned on him during the talent show, when he forbade her to go out on stage in her skimpy summer outfit. This was the final straw, and Paulette really let Johnny have a piece of her mind when she declared angrily that she was the best he was ever "gonna get, so" he had just better "take it or leave it".

A stunned Johnny was considerably chastened by this outburst, so much so that at the end of the film he sang to her, "I like what you got, I guess it's okay if you want to show it".
