Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "There I go, lying again. No, it was you. You're just so... predictable."

Answer: Fiona

Right at the start of the movie the main character, Scotty, is enjoying his graduation from his high school when his girlfriend, Fiona, informs him that she is dumping him. We subsequently find out, by way of the song "Scotty Doesn't Know" sung by the band at the graduation party, that Fiona has been cheating on Scotty (with the band's lead singer) for quite some time.
2. "This isn't where I parked my car. / This is definitely where I parked my car!"

Answer: Cooper

These are phrases said by Cooper at various times throughout the movie that he uses to justify either potentially awkward or very favourable situations that he gets himself in. He first uses "This isn't where I parked my car," when he "accidentally" falls into the Jacuzzi being used by a topless Candy at the graduation party.

He warmly declares, "This is definitely where I parked my car!" as he enters the sex club in Amsterdam.
3. "I'm getting the video camera!"

Answer: Bert

Scotty mistakenly thinks that his German pen pal, Mieke (who is very attractive), is a guy called Mike until his younger brother Bert points out that Mieke is "a common German girl's name similar to our Michelle". Having just told "Mike" that he doesn't want to talk to "him" any more (after he thinks that "Mike" wants to come to America to "get to know each other a little better"), Scotty realises his mistake and freaks out. Seeing another opportunity to capture his older brother's pain on film (in a similar way to the start of the movie when Fiona breaking up with Scotty at his graduation is captured), Bert declares, "I'm getting the video camera!"
4. "Look, given the current geopolitical climate, all European countries should have a seat at the table."

Answer: Mad Maynard

The viewer is led to believe that soccer hooligan Mad Maynard isn't all violence and swearing when he starts his political speech to his hooligan friends whilst sitting on the bus on the way to Paris. That improbable notion is quickly put to bed as he completes his seemingly insightful and profound statement with some rather xenophobic sentiment.
5. "Here's a fun fact. Voltaire contracted syphilis just two blocks from here. Shall we go?"

Answer: Jamie

As the four friends are waiting in the "huge" line for the Louvre, Jamie consults his "Frommer's Guide Book" and provides the less-than-appealing alternative to waiting in line. The friends' boredom is soon to be relieved, however, when Scotty gets involved in a "dance-off" with a robot performer, which he wins via a less-than-legal kick to his opponent's groin.
6. "We will swim with dolphins and sip champagne by moonlight."

Answer: Christoph

Jenny bumps into her Paris train station saviour Christoph (he stopped her can of coke from rolling off the platform!) again in the Bratislavan nightclub that the friends visit. Attracted by his good looks and charm, Jenny is definitely falling for Christoph, until he completes his seduction by stating, "My wife makes the best Sangria." When questioned by Jenny about the fact he is married and that "you go around Europe sleeping with every woman you meet", Christoph replies, "No please Jennifer, it is not like that. I also sleep with men." Needless to say, Jenny quickly removes herself from the situation.
7. "It doesn't do anything. It's a rope."

Answer: Scotty

As Scotty and Cooper try to catch up with Mieke's tour group inside the Vatican Museum, Cooper notices an interesting rope and, wondering what it does, decides to pull it. Despite Scotty's dismissal of it as being nothing more than a rope, a few seconds earlier, as Mieke's tour group go past the same rope, their tour guide informs the group, "That is the bell of San Marco.

When the Pope dies, the Cardinal Vicar of Rome rings this bell to notify the people of Rome."
8. "We could be seeing an arrest in the making."

Answer: Jenny

As the various tour groups are coming out of the Vatican Museum as white smoke coming from the chimney is indicating that a new Pope has been elected, Jamie is very excited and declares, "We could be seeing history in the making." However his slightly more pragmatic sister Jenny, sensing that their travelling companions Scotty and Cooper may have something to do with this rather strange turn of events, is somewhat more cautious in her outlook of the situation.
9. "Who are you?"

Answer: Mieke

After travelling across Europe to find the woman he has fallen in love with, Scotty's excitement at finally meeting Mieke is immediately dashed when she responds to his declaration "Mieke, I'm here, I made it," with the less-than-enthusiastic "Who are you?".

However after Scotty tells Mieke all of the things he had gone through to get to her, she soon appreciates his efforts, and the two find somewhere to be alone.
10. "You were the most knowledgeable, albeit idiosyncratic tour guide I've ever had."

Answer: Arthur Frommer

As the four friends are enjoying a well-earned drink at the Vatican, a nattily-dressed man approaches them, points at Jamie, and says, "Excuse me, you're the young man that just gave me that tour at the Vatican, aren't you?". Jamie begins to apologise, explaining that he is not a tour guide, but has sufficiently memorised his "Frommer's Guide Book" to allow him to provide an insightful tour. Jamie further states that he added in a few things Frommer's didn't know about, at which point Arthur Frommer reveals his true identity as the author of Jamie's beloved guide book, and then offers to pay Jamie to see every museum and cathedral in Europe.
