When Tool and Ross are talking about Ross letting Gunnar go, Tool says something to the effect that if Gunnar went Frankenstein on him, Ross had no choice but to cut him loose. Then later on when Tool and Ross are talking about why Ross felt bad leaving Sandra behind, Tool tells him about the Bosnian woman who committed suicide. Tool describes the darkness in his heart as Dracula black.

Answer: His life is difficult because he is smaller than everyone else.

Yang claims that life is harder for him because he is smaller than everyone else. Here is the comparative heights of Ross' team:

The fights between Li and Lundgren showed the true disadvantage in size Li faces. As you can see from the list, Lundgren towers over Li by almost a foot. We never do learn the real reason Li needs more money but he is insistent throughout that he does.

Answer: Buda and Pest

Christmas points to himself and says, "Buda" then points to Ross and says, "Pest". Ross looks at Christmas and deadpans "Budapest" with a bit of a smile on his face. If there is any significance to Christmas picking Budapest, we are never told. From the way it plays out, it would seem to have been a spur of the moment answer.

At this point in the movie the two are not sure they can trust Sandra and they do not want to reveal who they really are.

Answer: The suicide of a Bosnian woman

When Tool and Ross are talking about why it bothers Ross that Sandra did not come with them when she had the chance, Tool tells Ross a story about their time in Bosnia. Tool reminds Ross how bad it was in Bosnia and then tells him of seeing a Bosnian woman on a bridge about to jump.

The woman looked right at Tool and he did nothing to stop her. He feels that this was his one chance to redeem what was left of his soul and he let it slip through his fingers by not trying to save her.

Answer: "Friends die together."

Ross tells Christmas and Yang he is going back after Sandra to rescue her. You can tell both feel obligated to go with him but Ross insists he is doing this alone. He goes outside and gets in his truck. Yang follows him and gets in with him. Ross asks why when he doesn't have to go. Yang replies, "friends die together". Later on the whole team joins Ross to go rescue Sandra and to finish the job.

Answer: Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Carpenter plays Lacy, Christmas' girlfriend. He is not ideal boyfriend material from a communication perspective. She does not know what he does and therefore does not understand his long absences without any word. When he returns from their mission against the pirates, she has moved on and has another boyfriend. He leaves but then the new boyfriend abuses Lacy so Christmas beats him and his friends up. She witnesses it all and now understands what he does for a living.

Charisma played Cordelia on "Buffy" for 57 episodes and then on "Angel" for 90 episodes.

Answer: Omya Kaboom

Caesar has an automatic shotgun that can shoot 250 rounds a minute. One of the shells has an explosive warhead on it instead of a bullet or buckshot and he says that this shell is his girlfriend Omya Kaboom. He tells all of this to Toll Road who then suggests Hale see his therapist. Hale replies that it's too late for that.

Answer: Her painting

In Sandra's truck are pictures she has painted. She gives one to Ross as a gift when he admires her work. Once the mission is over and Sandra has been rescued, Ross says the fee for the mission has been put into a bank account for Sandra to help in rebuilding the island. When she resists taking it, he says it is a gift like she gave him.

Answer: Munroe kills him.

General Garza decides he will no longer be Munroe's stooge because Munroe has gone too far by torturing his daughter, Sandra. Garza goes to the balcony to address his troops and tell them he is taking the country back. Munroe shoots him in the back and he falls from the balcony. The troops assume the Expendables killed Garza and all things get crazy. The team must shoot their way out.

Answer: Shot by Ross and knife in the back from Christmas

Munroe is killed by both Ross and Christmas at the same time, Ross shoots him from the front and Christmas throws a knife in his back. Throughout the movie there is a running debate between Ross and Christmas as to which is faster, a bullet fired by Ross or a knife thrown by Christmas. In the scene both hit Munroe simultaneously and they declare a tie.
