Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the first movie to bring about talks of a PG-13 rating?

Answer: "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom"

"Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" was a bit too edgy for PG, but not quite edgy enough for R, so it was the first movie which brought about talks of a PG-13 rating. I guess pulling beating hearts of chests and eating monkey brains warranted a new rating.
2. What movie had sold more tickets in the U.S. than the other three?

Answer: "Gone With The Wind"

As of August 2002, "Titanic" is the all-time money leader with $600,000,000+ in sales; however, "Gone with the Wind" is still the leader in number of tickets sold.
3. Which movie sequel won the Academy Award for Best Picture?

Answer: "The Godfather Part II"

"The Godfather Part II", like the first "Godfather", deservingly won the Academy Award for Best Picture. And actually, "The Godfather Part III" was also nominated for Best Picture, but did not win.
4. Which actor never appeared in the first four "Batman" movies?

Answer: Kevin Spacey

Drew appeared in "Batman Forever". Billy Dee appeared in "Batman". And Christopher Walken appeared in "Batman Returns".
5. What was the first fully computer-generated movie?

Answer: "Toy Story"

"Toy Story" was the first movie to be animated completely with computer graphics. "Tron", however, was one of the first movies to prominently feature computer graphics.
6. Which of the following actor(s), if any, won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, 2 years in a row?

Answer: Both Tracy and Hanks accomplished this feat.

Spencer Tracy won the academy award in 1937 and 1938 for "Captains Courageos" and "Boys Town". Tom Hanks won in 1993 and 1994 for "Philadelphia" and "Forrest Gump".
7. What was the first animated full-length movie to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture?

Answer: Beauty and the Beast

"Beauty and the Beast" made history in 1991 when it was nominated for Best Picture.
8. What is the first movie to feature a DTS cinema soundtrack?

Answer: "Jurassic Park"

"Jurassic Park" was a perfect showcase for DTS surround sound.
9. Which actor portrayed James Bond in 1983?

Answer: Both Roger Moore and Sean Connery

"Octopussy" featuring Roger Moore and "Never Say Never Again" featuring Sean Connery were both released in 1983. Sean Connery made his brief return as James Bond after a 12 year hiatus.
10. Which "Star Trek" movie was not directed by one of the cast members?

Answer: "Star Trek 6 - The Undiscovered Country"

"Star Trek 5" (man that movie was bad) was directed by Shatner (Kirk). "Star Trek 4" was directed by Nimoy (Spock). And "Star Trek - First Contact" was directed by Frakes (Riker). "Star Trek 6" was directed by Nicholas Meyer.
