Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. While rowing on a leaf in a houseplant, who sang that they were a 'happy go lucky fellow'?

Answer: Jiminy Cricket

Jiminy Cricket sang a song while he reclined on a leaf that floated in a house plant. When he exited the leaf and looked around the house, he found a sad doll and a sad teddy bear along with a record player. Jiminy thought if he played something on the record player it would cheer up the doll and teddy bear.
2. The record put on the turntable was a musical story about a bear named Bongo and performed by Dinah Shore. What kind of bear was Bongo described as?

Answer: Circus

Dinah Shore performed the musical story about the circus bear Bongo. When Bongo fled from the circus he hid in the woods where he met Lulubelle. While there, Bongo learned that a bear admits his or her true feelings by slapping the other bear. Bongo and Lullabelle fell in love. Sinclair Lewis wrote the short story that was based on Bongo.
3. While living in the woods, Bongo met a female bear. What was her name?

Answer: Lullabelle

Bongo didn't know that slapping another bear in the face was a sign of love so when Lullabelle slapped him Bongo was hurt and confused. Lullabelle tried slapping Bongo again and accidentally slapped a bear named Lumpjaw. This caused problems between Lumpjaw and Bongo that ended with Lumpjaw being dragged down river. Lullabelle and Bongo slapped each other and lived happily ever after.
4. Edgar Bergen and his ventriloquist dummies, Mortimer and Charlie, performed and told stories for a young girl at what event?

Answer: Her birthday party

5. What was the name of the valley where Mickey, Goofy and Donald lived in "Mickey and the Beanstalk"?

Answer: Happy Valley

6. While dividing up bread and a single bean in "Mickey and the Beanstalk", Donald lost his mind from hunger and tried to eat Goofy.

Answer: False

7. How many magic beans did Mickey get for the cow that he traded in "Mickey and the Beanstalk"?

Answer: Three

When Goofy and Donald found out that Mickey traded beans for their cow, they were irate. Donald took the beans that Mickey had and threw them on the floor where they rolled into a hole. Overnight, a beanstalk grew destroying the house in which the three lived.
8. What was the name of the giant that Goofy, Donald and Mickey met in "Mickey and the Beanstalk"?

Answer: Willie

Mickey, Goofy and Donald traveled through the kingdom until they came to the giant's castle. The three met the giant (named Willie) when he entered the dining room while they were on the table eating his food. Willie locked Goofy and Donald up in a chest, but Mickey got away.
9. Mickey talked the giant into shapeshifting into a fly, but what did the giant think Mickey would like to see him as?

Answer: Pink bunny

Mickey wanted Willie to shapeshift into a fly so that he could smash the fly, but Willie changed into a pink bunny instead. It was at this time that Willie realized Mickey tried to kill him.
10. How did Mickey, Goofy and Donald escape the giant with the magical singing harp in "Mickey and the Beanstalk"?

Answer: They cut the beanstalk down.

The magical singing harp sang for the giant and put him to sleep so Mickey was able to rescue Goofy and Donald. They used an axe to cut down the beanstalk and get away from the giant. With the return of the magical singing harp, Happy Valley went back to a prosperous valley. Edgar Bergen finished the story by telling Luana and the others that Willie wasn't real; however, he fainted when Willie raised the top of the house asking about Mickey's whereabouts.
