Brigitte lost track of the werewolf and Ghost (Ghost was the only one who knew how to get out of the clinic), but eventually bumped into Ghost placing coins on Beth-Ann's eye sockets. Ghost said that she had to pay the ferryman, but Beth-Ann's eye moved as Ghost placed the coin on her eye.

She screamed, and the werewolf chased them away. In Greek mythology, the ferryman takes the dead across the river Styx, from the land of the living to Hades, the land of the dead. If you paid the ferryman before you arrived on shore, he would not take you to the other side, and you would wander the Earth as a ghost. Ghost was the character who accepted the existence of werewolves most easily, and believed that the demons in her comics walked the Earth.

Ghost overheard the discussion about monkshood and read a related story about monkshood in her comic book.

In her comic book, the human had to take monkshood to prevent himself from transforming into a werewolf. Ghost was the only one who figured out that Brigitte was a wolf, even though she could not tell the difference between the real and the comic world.

Barbara had a book on subconscious messaging, and called her granddaughter Ghost, to subconsciously signal Ghost to be quieter. After Ghost and Brigitte retreat to Barbara's house, Ghost told Brigitte about the origin of her name, how Barbara was burned, and about her childhood. Ghost explained that Barbara hated loud noises, which Ghost made a lot of. Barbara's house was a rickety old shack in a remote area, that required her to use a power generator. Thus, all of Ghost's movements, turning on the faucets, and opening trapdoors created sudden, loud noises. Ghost told Brigitte that "Sometimes even walking around made Barbara angry." Barbara was irritable and antisocial so, in a later scene, it was revealed that she pushed Ghost to the point of burning her own grandmother. Some people have argued that Ghost was an incarnation of Ginger. Thus, Ghost locking Brigitte in the basement was Ginger's ultimate revenge for being murdered by Brigitte in the original movie.

The fully developed werewolf stalking Brigitte did not have any whiskers, but had the other three traits. Sharp incisors and canine teeth, yellow eyes, and hairy palms were three of the changes that Brigitte experienced during her transformation. Each time Brigitte developed a werewolf trait, Brigitte's behaviour became more aggressive. Hairy palms accompanied primal thoughts.

Her yellow eyes appeared when she attacked Tyler. She was filing off her incisors and canines before she growled at Ghost.

Brigitte took the picture glass off Alice's desk, because she could not break the mirror or any glass in her cell. She cut herself open and drained out her blood in order to evict the werewolf infection from her body. The infection lingered, even with the combined effort of bloodletting and shooting monkshood.

The appearance of Brigitte's werewolf ear was her first, physical manifestation of the werewolf, and it occurred after Ghost accused her of being a werewolf. She promptly cut the appendage off with the picture glass.

This line was Brigitte and Ginger's pact. In the original movie, they agreed to escape the suburbs or die together by age 16. The pact was often invoked by Ginger to try to control Brigitte. Brigitte also used it to get her werewolf sister to trust her while she attempted to find a cure for Ginger's werewolf curse.

In the end, Brigitte broke the pact by letting her sister die alone. In the opening credits, Brigitte was shaving and shooting monkshood while flashback lines from her battle against her sister's transformation were running through her mind.

The broken promise to her sister troubled her immensely. To remind Brigitte of the pact that she had betrayed, Ginger's specter appears to taunt Brigitte at all of Brigitte's most vulnerable moments.
