Brody says this after Harry declares, "We know all about you Chief. You don't go in the water at all, do you?" It is also mentioned by Brody's wife, Ellen, that he sits in his car while riding the ferry. Brody says at one point in the film that "drowning" is his fear.

"That's some bad hat, Harry" is a soundbite for Bad Hat Harry Productions, which can be heard after some television shows such as "House, M.D.".

Quint says this at the town meeting when offering his services to kill the shark. He is a rugged individualist who floats his own boat. Later in the film he says, "Maybe I should go alone." After some arguing with Brody and Hooper he decides to bring them along. Quint declares he is captain while Brody and Hooper are mate, master, and pilot.

In the film there is a man that follows Quint around. One would assume that this man is his only mate or master. This person, however, never speaks and does not go on the charter to kill the Great White.

Answer: Matt Hooper

This is Hooper's response when Brody asks him how rich he is. Hooper has seemingly unlimited resources when it comes to equipment. It is indeed one of his underwater oxygen tanks that ultimately kills the shark. Quint does not at first agree with Hooper's methods and equipment, but eventually agrees to utilize them near the end of the movie.

Quint says this when arguing with Hooper about whether or not it was a shark that bit through the piano wire fishing line. Hooper and Quint are polar opposites of the same idea. Quint hates sharks while Hooper declares he loves them. They eventually become friendly with each other after comparing scars at the dinner table scene on the Orca. Quint also proves to Hooper he is more experienced with sharks after his tale of woe on the U.S.S. Indianapolis.

In the extended edition of the film, Quint can be seen buying the piano wire from a music store.

Mayor Vaughn says this after the shark attack in the estuary. He finally realizes that he has to close the beaches and hire Quint to kill the shark. Martin says, "You're the Mayor of Shark City. These people think you want the beaches open."

Hooper says this in response to Quint's assertion, "You got city hands Mr. Hooper. You been countin' money all your life." Hooper says later in the movie, "I don't have to take this abuse much longer" in a comical voice. He has a hard time adjusting to the fact that Quint is in charge of their shark hunting efforts.

Brody yells this at Quint after Quint destroys the radio. Obviously Quint has a lot of pride and does not want help from the Coast Guard or other boats. He only responds to Brody by saying, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!"

Brody says this to Hooper after they agree on the idea of territoriality and rogue sharks in that area. Everyone in the town thinks the Tiger Shark caught by the "bozos" is "the shark." Brody and Hooper discover that the Tiger Shark has no evidence in its digestive track of the Kintner boy.

They then proceed to go out on the ocean and find Ben Gardner's boat destroyed by the shark. Matt discovers a tooth of the shark in the hull of the boat. He drops it when Ben's body appears. This evidence does not help to persuade the Mayor to close the beaches.

Quint shouts this quote when he observes Brody's wife Ellen saying goodbye to him. She says Quint scares her and she is very afraid for how the shark hunting trip will turn out. After Quint says this quote, Ellen runs away.

After Brody blows up the shark, the duo return to shore using Quint's barrels and some boards fashioned together as a float. Brody's fear of the water is completely gone at this point and he can officially call himself an "Islander".
