Voorhees, born on August 22, 1962 in Massachusetts was cast to play Alex Kintner. Alex was seen near the beginning of the film as he swam in the ocean and had fun. Then, he struggled in the water and that is when the shark appeared. Alex died as a result of the attack.

The mat that he used at the beach was all chewed up after the shark killed him. As of June//2023, Voorhees only acting credit was as Alex Kintner in "Jaws".

Backlinie, a native of Ventura, California, had the small part of Chrissie Watkins. Chrissie was in the opening scene when she swam in the ocean at night and then ominous music played. Chrissie noticed a rough movement and felt that there was something wrong.

This was when the shark grabbed a hold of her and thrashed her about through the water. Chrissie died due to this shark attack. Backlinie guest starred on the TV series "The Fall Guy", "Quark" and "The Quest".

Scheider, born in 1932 in Orange, New Jersey landed the major role of Chief Brody. Chief Brody oversaw the police department of Amity Island and, in one scene, typed up Chrissie Watkins' obituary. In the when scene when Alex Kintner died, he noticed blood so he cleared everyone out of the water. Shortly after this incident, Chief Brody met with Matt Hooper, since Hooper was a shark expert. Midway through the movie, Chief Brody got scared when the shark got near his son, Michael. Near the end of the movie, Chief Brody, Hooper and Quint were in a boat and the shark attacked the boat. This was when Chief Brody uttered the film's most iconic line to Hooper, "You're gonna need a bigger boat". Chief Brody shoved a pressurized scuba tank into the shark's mouth and then shot at the tank, which blew up the shark. Scheider appeared in the films "The Peacekeeper", "All That Jazz" and "The Men's Club".

In 1972, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for "The French Connection" but lost to Ben Johnson for "The Last Picture Show".

Gary, born on August 16, 1937 in New York City, landed the part of Ellen Brody. Ellen was Chief Brody's wife and she once mentioned to him that he was rather uptight while they were on the beach. Early on in the film, she said to her husband that Michael was out on a boat.

Then, she saw a picture in a publication where a shark ate a boat so she wanted Michael out of the boat. Midway through the movie, Matt Hooper brought over some wine and spoke to Chief Brody and Ellen about the shark. Ellen was surprised since she thought they had killed the shark but Hooper advised her that they had killed a shark, but not the one they wanted. Gary appeared in the movies "1941", "Car Wash" and "Zero to Sixty".

Rebello, a native of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts landed the part of Michael Brody. Michael was Chief and Ellen Brody's son and he enjoyed the beach at Amity Island. Midway into the movie, Michael was seen in the part of the ocean referred to as the pond and the shark was around there. Ellen told Chief Brody about this so they both immediately ran for Michael. Michael was in a state of shock so his parents took him to the hospital for observation.

The doctor examined Michael, said he was fine and released him from the hospital. Rebello's only acting credit was his role as Michael Brody in "Jaws".

He passed away on November 30, 2000.

Answer: Lee Fierro

Fierro, born in 1929 in New York City, got the small role of Mrs. Kintner. Mrs. Kintner was at the beach with her son, Alex, but was distressed when she saw that the shark chewed up the mat he used while in the water. In her next scene, she was seen in black clothing as she had just attended Alex's funeral.

She slapped Chief Brody in the face and yelled at him since he refused to close the beach, despite how he knew there was a shark in the water. Mrs. Kintner offered a reward for whoever killed the shark. Fierro only had two additional acting credits in the movies "Jaws: The Revenge" and "The Mistover Tale".

She passed away on April 5, 2020.

Hamilton, born on March 24, 1923 in Washington, North Carolina was cast in the role of Vaughn. Vaughn was the Mayor of Amity Island and he argued with Chief Brody since the latter wanted to close the beach after Chrissie Watkins died from a shark attack.

He told him that Amity Island was a summer destination and it needed summer dollars because people had other options for vacations, such as Martha's Vineyard. Midway through the movie, Matt Hooper and Vaughn had a major argument since Hooper favored a closure but Vaughn did not. Vaughn also complained about vandalism done to a billboard. Hamilton guest starred on the TV shows "The Golden Girls", "Bret Maverick" and "Kojak".

Answer: Robert Shaw

Shaw, a native of Lancashire, England, United Kingdom got the part of Quint. Quint was first seen when he scratched his fingernails on a chalkboard at a meeting . At this meeting, the people got together to discuss a plan to kill the shark. Midway through the film, he, Chief Brody and Matt Hooper all went out on a boat to try and kill the shark.

The three sang a song together and also devised a plan to kill the shark. In Quint's final scene, he was on this boat and, due to how the boat was positioned, his body slid towards the shark.

The shark attacked Quint and he died. Shaw had appearances in the movies "From Russia With Love", "The Sting" and "A Man for All Seasons".

Dreyfuss, born in 1947 in Brooklyn, New York landed the part of Matt Hooper. Matt Hooper was a shark expert and spoke about how much he loved them. He once told Chief Brody that the tiger shark several men had killed had a different bite radius than what was seen on the two victims' bodies. Midway through the movie, Chief Brody and Matt Hooper went out on a boat at night and looked for a shark. Matt Hooper asked Chief Brody if he wanted a pretzel but Chief Brody declined the offer.

At the end of the movie, Matt Hooper was in the water and nearly died, due to the shark, but survived his encounter. Dreyfuss had roles in the movies "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", "American Graffiti" and "Down and Out in Beverly Hills".

In 1978, Dreyfuss won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the movie, "The Goodbye Girl".

Kramer, born on July 15, 1945 in New York City, got the part of Hendricks. Hendricks was a resident of Amity Island and, much like everyone else on the island, wanted the shark dead. Early on in the film, his friends used meat when they threw it into the ocean and hoped this would attract the shark.

The shark swam over and nearly killed the friends. Chief Brody told Henricks that his friends were foolish and Hendricks claimed they were not his friends. Hendricks joked about this when he said his wife inquired as to where all the meat was and Chief Brody told him that was not humorous. Kramer had guest starring stints on the TV series "Ally McBeal", "Out of This World" and "Happy Days".
