Of course they fall in love, and before long he finds that he's next on the list of jilted bridegrooms.

While there, a rich man, claiming to have cancer, approaches him and asks Fletch to kill him. Of course our hero is immediately suspicious. But never fear, he manages to solve both mysteries, linking the drug traffic back to the Chief of Police.
4. (1984) The civil war in Cambodia was a dangerous place to be, especially after the last American troops had pulled out. New York journalist Sydney Schanberg, and local correspondent Dith Pran decided to stay behind to cover the story. But things got a little scary when it was time to leave. Being American, Schanberg could get out easily enough, but he wouldn't leave his friend behind to certain death, and worse.
5. (1944) Mortimer Brewster is a newspaperman and author who is well known for his intense dislike of the state of matrimony. So nobody is more surprised than he is when he finally decides to tie the knot. But he's even more shocked to find that the two, sweet, old aunts who raised him have been poisoning men and burying them in their basement. When his long-lost, psychopathic brother shows up with his own corpse, things get really crazy!
6. (1954) Journalistic photographer L.B. Jeffries broke his leg getting a unique shot of a car race. Confined to a wheelchair, he spends his healing time looking out of the rear window of his apartment, watching the comings and goings of his neighbours. He soon becomes convinced that one of his neighbours has murdered his wife and cut up her body in the bathtub. He convinces his girlfriend and his nurse that he's right, but without any proof he can't convince the police.
7. (2000) A fifteen-year-old boy is hired by 'Rolling Stone' magazine to go on tour with, and write about the up-and-coming group Stillwater. He gets more of an education than he bargained for, as he's exposed to 'sex and drugs and rock and roll', and the fragile egos of the band.
8. (1979) Reporter Kimberly Wells (played by Jane Fonda) and her cameraman (played by Michael Douglas) witness an accident at a nuclear power plant. The resultant furor over their attempt to make public the film that they shot uncovers a massive cover-up of safety hazards at the plant.
9. (1976) When TV anchorman Howard Beale is given two weeks notice, he reacts in a way that no one could have predicted. After threatening to commit suicide on the air, and whipping his viewers into a frenzy, he becomes more popular than he ever was. This turns him into a very valuable asset to the network, a position he abuses when he starts to reveal things that they don't really want known.
10. (1996) She's young, beautiful, and determined to make a name for herself in TV journalism. He's her boss and mentor, until they fall in love, and then he becomes so much more to her. When she makes her move to Philadelphia, he sacrifices his career to follow her. Things work very well, until he gets the urge to try his hand at reporting again.
