Her real name was Christine McPherson, and she was played by Irish-American actress Saoirse Ronan. She chose to go by the name "Lady Bird" for reasons that were never explained. However, by the time she went off to college, she chose to return to her given name.
As for the other names, Julianne was the name of her best friend at school, and the other two names were not used.

The movie started with a quote from Joan Didion stating that "Anyone who talks about California hedonism has never spent a Christmas in Sacramento." Lady Bird spent most of the movie complaining how she hated Sacramento, and California in general, and wanted to go to east coast where there was culture. She would eventually get her wish, albeit with some pains between her and her mother.

Reportedly, they listened to the entire audiobook on that trip, which Lady Bird exclaimed took 21 hours and 53 minutes. This was one of those few moments when Lady Bird and her mother got along well, but then it started to go south, and would be part of the basis of the movie plot.

She attended Immaculate Heart (for which she had a slightly derogatory name) because apparently her brother, Miguel, saw a person knifed in front of Sacramento High, where she would've gone. She was also one of the poorer students going to the school, along with her friend Julianne mentioned above.

This had a little to do with why, when her father drove her to school, she asked to be let out a block from the school, because the family's car was a well kept, but 1990's model Toyota Camry, that paled in comparison to the cars driven by the other students and their parents.

Answer: She fell out of a moving car.

During the argument she had with her mother while driving home from their college road trip, she seemed to get sick and tired of the argument. She unhooked her seat belt, opened the passenger door, and fell out of the car while it was traveling down the road.

She would spend the first third of the movie in the cast and never got anyone to sign it. In fact the only thing written on her cast was a derogatory phrase aimed at her mother.

Answer: She caught him making out with another boy.

During auditions to be in the play, Danny ended up catching her and Julianne's eye, but Lady Bird made the move and they start dating. Things seemed to be going very well for them until, while at a club watching a rock band (that had a band member which also caught her eye), she and Julianne, in a desperate need to use the bathroom, burst into the men's room and just happened to open the stall Danny and the other boy were in.

This changed how she felt with him severely until she talked with him while working at the coffee shop.

When they first started to make love while at Jenna's house, he stated he was, but then after they made love the second time at his house, he then stated he wasn't and said who he lost his virginity with. This made Lady Bird mad because she said he did say he was a virgin at first. Though they broke up, they still agreed to go to the prom together, but she bailed on him and Jenna and her date when they all decided not to go and she went to Julianne's house, made up with her after fighting with her earlier, then they both went to the prom as each other's dates.

The only college she was accepted to in state was Cal - Davis, which her mother kept pushing for her to go to, but behind her back she and her dad filled out student loan applications and she filled out applications to go to colleges in New York. She wound up on the wait list for one of them, which she told her dad and apparently Danny, because after graduation, while at a restaurant he mentioned something about the wait list.

This let the cat out of the bag to her mother, causing the biggest amount of tension between the two. So much so, her mother hardly spoke to her the rest of the movie.

It showed at one point that Lady Bird got three letters from east coast colleges, and though one showed part of the name as being Columbia University, the others weren't known. Neither was the one she got on the wait list for and eventually got the welcome packet from revealed. Regardless, she was accepted and her father made financial adjustments to help pay for her tuition.

Then she was seen painting over the walls of her room, packing, then being taken to the airport to head off to New York.

At a party in New York not long after she moved there and settled in, she met a young man named David and, for the first time, introduced herself as Christine. She got drunk with him, and when they went to start making out, she ended up throwing up, then was taken out of the apartment and to the hospital where she slept it off.

After checking out she realized it was Sunday and went to a Catholic church nearby to watch the choir sing. She then stepped outside and made a phone call home, leaving a message to her mother stating how much she appreciated everything she did for her, and for the first time, thanked her and said she loved her.
