Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Elvis and Ann-Margaret team up in this Vegas flick. There's music, dancing and whole lotta fun going on. What movie is this that was directed by George Sidney?

Answer: Viva Las Vegas

This is one of the original Vegas flicks. Elvis plays the role of Lucky Jackson in this older movie. Ann-Margaret plays the role of Rusty Martin. Elvis has eyes only for Ann and gets a little fumbled. Can Lucky get his car in working order for the next race? You'll have to tune in to see.
2. Wayne, first you shrink the kids please don't tell me that the baby is your next victim. What movie is this?

Answer: Honey, I Blew Up the Kid

Joshua and Daniel Shalikar played the baby, Adam Szalinski, in the movie "Honey, I Blew up the Kid". This was their first attempt at the movie world. Did they ever make it big too! Probably 150 feet big! I'd say that's a pretty big start in Hollywood terms.
3. Of course, we can't talk about Vegas movies and not mention the fabulous eleven. What movie is this that stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt for starters?

Answer: Ocean's Eleven

George Clooney formed eleven people to rob a casino. Not just any casino, but the Bellagio's vault. This star studded cast includes Elliott Gould, Andy Garcia, Matt Damon, including Clooney and Pitt. Oops, we forgot the starlet, Julia Roberts also.
4. Why didn't they just leave the bunny alone like Nicolas Cage asked? But no, everything breaks loose and planes are crashing into the Sands Casino in this movie. What Vegas flick is this?

Answer: Con Air

This movie has more quick one liners. The entire cast is just hilarious. John Cusack plays U.S. Marshal Vince Larkin so well. His one liners against Duncan Malloy were awesome. You almost feel sorry for Duncan when you see his car sailing along the sky.
5. The Landmark casino came down in this Vegas flick that also starred Jack Nicholson as President James Dale. What Vegas movie was this?

Answer: Mars Attacks!

This was such a waste of fine actors. Even Jack Nicholson couldn't save this movie. The best part was when the Landmark came tumbling down. Unfortunately, the whole movie didn't take a dive before it hit the screen. Great cast with Glenn Close, Annette Bening and even Michael J. Fox, but it was still missing - the plot!
6. This time the Griswolds hit tinsel town. Rusty gets a fake ID and Audrey does a little dancing. What is this 'Vacation' movie called?

Answer: Vegas Vacation

Wallace Shawn plays the rotten blackjack dealer that just loves to take Clark's money. Of course, the Griswolds couldn't go on vacation without saying 'hi' to Cousin Eddie either. Randy Quaid again comes across great as Cousin Eddie. I love the buffet line, "um red food or blue?"
7. You ready to get married? Let's hop a flight to Vegas, hit the chapel and let's get hitched. Well, we do see a few Elvis' skydiving. Wait, we have to get dressed up like showgirls. Let's not forget about stopping in Hawaii for a bit. Can you guess which Vegas flick I'm talking about?

Answer: Honeymoon in Vegas

This is a cute movie with Nicolas Cage. He sure enjoys the Vegas movies doesn't he? "Con Air" to "Leaving Las Vegas" and now "Honeymoon in Las Vegas". Try not to get stereo typed here Nicolas. Nicolas wants to marry Sarah Jessica Parker... problem is, so does James Caan. But Nicolas strapped on a chute and won the girl!
8. It was supposed to be a weekend of love and romance for Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson, but Robert Redford put a little damper in their plans. He made them the offer, they couldn't refuse. What Vegas movie is this?

Answer: Indecent Proposal

Robert Redford caught sight of Demi Moore and made a bet. A million dollar bet. A bet that could cost Demi and Woody everything they had. This movie really made some people think. It caused quite a bit of controversy too. What would you have done? That was the question everyone was asking. A great movie, with a terrific ending, but next time say, "all bets off!"
9. In this Vegas movie you see Raymond Babbitt driving a car in the front of Caesar's Place in Las Vegas with Charlie Babbitt cheering him on. What Vegas flick is this?

Answer: Rain Man

Best Picture, Best Director and yes, Dustin Hoffman picked up the Oscar for Best Actor. I was in awe looking out their suite window at Caesar's Palace. The view of the strip was truly awesome. Someday I'm going to get that room. "Queen, Queen and more Queens." But let's not admit to counting cards, shall we?
10. This movie teams up Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte. Both of these actors are reporters trying to outdo one another to get "the scoop." A little wedding chapel gets in the way and they became Mr. and Mrs. Do you know what Vegas flick this was?

Answer: I Love Trouble

Julia starred in three Vegas flicks from the answers. "America's Sweethearts" was filmed outside of Vegas by Lake Las Vegas. Very nice area of town, if you ever get out there, make sure you visit. I remember when Lake Las Vegas was just plain desert. Wow, have times changed! Casinos, downtown and the strip, they are ever changing out there. Remember: shoot for 7 or 11 on the come out baby. Let's go to the movies!
