Let's Go "Black" to the Theater Quiz

Only they say nobody has ever come back to prove it."

"The Black Hole" included Maximillian Schell, Anthony Perkins, Yvette Mimieux, Ernest Borgnine and other notable members in the cast. The film also included the presence of a formidable robot, V.I.N.CENT. Set in the year 2150, an exploration spaceship encounters another craft near a black hole.

It is the intention of the docking craft to safely travel through the black hole. One of the optimistic crew members notes, "There's an entirely different universe beyond that black hole. A point where time and space as we know it no longer exists. We will be the first to see it, to explore it, to experience it!"

Brad Pitt is the charming personification of Death. Even though the film can be laborious at times, it does offer some splendid quotes. One of my favorites by Joe Black goes as follows, "So you understand the idea. Congratulations, Bill. Now multiply that by infinity, take that to the depth of forever, and you still will barely have a glimpse of what I'm talking about."

Nick and Charlie, New York City police officers, have the unenviable task of tangling with the Yakuza, a powerful and formidable Japanese organized crime entity. Nick accomplishes the mission and receives a nice reward in the end.

Probably the most influential film series based on a theme park ride, "Pirates of the Caribbean" continues to bring delight to audiences. Johnny Depp provided his own perspective and insight on a character which has turned out to be a phenomenal success.

The majority of critics were not overly kind to this crime investigation film by De Palma. It did however, receive some acclaim for its cinematography. De Palma has had some successes though. "Mission: Impossible", "Carrie", "The Untouchables", "Body Double" and more. The film depicts the investigation of the murder of Elizabeth Short. The action takes place in Los Angeles, California.

Tommy Lee Jones portrays the acerbic Agent J, the reluctant mentor of Agent K, who is portrayed by Will Smith. They are members of a clandestine agency charged with the protection of Earth from extraterrestrial denizens. The series has been a phenomenal box-office success.

A number of relatively obscure films have been made with the title, "Black Gold". Usually, these films involve oil and the petroleum industry. However, one of the films is a documentary about coffee.

Daniel Radcliffe makes a significant departure from his role as Harry Potter in this 2012 film. It was directed by James Watkins. It has a horror, paranormal theme. On a lighter note, it was produced by Hammer Film Productions, which has entertained us with horror films such as, "Dracula", "The Mummy", "The Curse of Frankenstein" and more in the same genre.
