Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. (1983) My name was once Anakin, but I have not used it in many years. I am powerful in the dark side of the force, and rule the universe as the right hand of my master, the Emperor. When my master asked me to bring him my son I obeyed, but when he tried to kill my son, I saw the error of my ways. I saved my son and destroyed my master, proving that there was some trace of humanity left in me.
2. (1993) My name is Oskar, and while I was never a good man, I never thought of myself as that bad either. I was a bit of a womanizer, and I did believe that I could exploit the cheap labour available in the Kracow Ghetto to make me a rich man. However, when I saw the way that those poor people were being treated, I became disgusted with my own selfishness. Making money was no longer a priority for me, instead I dedicated myself to saving as many lives as I possibly could.
3. (2004) I was hired by the King to dispose of the ogre who had married his daughter. When I met up with the ogre, I was taken with his sincerity, and saw the error of my ways. Instead of killing him, I became his faithful companion, sworn to help him regain his lady love. The fact that my presence irritated the donkey was payment enough for me.
4. (2000) I'm green and I'm mean and I hate the Whos. In fact the only thing I hate more than the Whos is Christmas, so when that meddling little girl asked me to be Holiday Cheer-meister, I thought she had lost her mind. When they were all sleeping, I crept into their homes and stole their Christmas away. But the next morning, when I heard them singing instead of crying, I realized what the true meaning of Christmas really was. I guess that little girl wasn't so wrong about me after all.
5. (1997) My name is Martin Blank and I am a professional hit man. Normally I can perform my duties without any qualms, but lately I've been developing a conscience which is really getting in the way. My latest job puts me back in my home town on the same weekend as my high school's 10th reunion, which adds a lot more confusion to the mess. When it turns out that it's my ex-girlfriend's father I'm supposed to kill, I realize that it's time to get out of the business.
6. (1991) My name is never revealed, but in my youth I was a conceited, cold, heartless wretch. Because of my lack of compassion, I am forced to live under a curse, until I can find someone I can love, and who can love me in return...but who can love a beast like me? When I do find a girl whom I love, I realize that her happiness is more important to me than my own, and it is this compassion which brings her back to me and finally breaks the spell.
7. (1988) My name is Charlie Babbitt, and although I hadn't spoken to my father in years, I expected to be left everything when he died, since I was his only son. I was shocked to learn that the bulk of his estate was left to an autistic savant, who I soon learned was a brother I never knew I had. I kidnapped him, intending to use him as leverage to get my share of the estate, but as we made our way across country, I soon discovered that having him as a brother meant much more to me than getting the money. Name the movie.
8. (1997) My name is Melvin Udall, and I am a very successful writer. I am also an obsessive who has a hard time getting along with anyone else. When my next-door neighbour is badly beaten and impoverished by his medical bills, I could really care less. However I pretend to be concerned, in order to impress the one woman I've ever cared about. Before I know it, I actually do start caring about what happens to this guy, and I find myself a much better person for the experience.
9. (1997) My name is Fletcher Reede, and I am a lawyer...the kind of lawyer people make bad jokes about. After I let my son down once too often, the wish he makes on his birthday candles is granted, and I find myself unable to tell a single lie for 24 hours. Now, you can imagine what kind of trouble this gets me into, but before long I find that I quite enjoy the newer, more sincere me.
10. (2000) My name is Nick Marshall, and I like to think of myself as a man's man, even though some people think of me as sleazy. When a freak accident gives me the ability to read women's minds, I have absolutely no compunction about using that ability to advance my own interests, and get back at the woman who got the promotion that should have come to me. However I soon find that not only am I genuinely in love with this woman, but I've also become more compassionate towards people in general, especially women.
