Barbara Stanwyck is watching and she narrates the scene as several of the women make an attempt to meet Fonda using such standard approaches such as "Didn't I meet you somewhere before?" and the old "drop the handkerchief trick." Then when he passes her, she sticks her foot out and trips him.
