Directed by George Stevens, "Talk of the Town" stars Grant as Leopold Dilg, a homegrown political activist. Dilg escapes and hides out in the house of his childhood sweetheart Nora Shelley (played by Jean Arthur). Problems arise because Nora has just rented out the house to future law Professor and Supreme Court Justice Michael Lightcap, who wants nothing but a few days of peace and quiet so he can work on a book he is writing. Dilg and Nora eventually involve the Professor in the case as they search for justice.
