Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In which of these movies does Courtney confess "I killed Liz. I killed the teen dream. Deal with it."?

Answer: Jawbreaker

In "Jawbreaker" (1999), three friends accidentally kill their girlfriend, Liz (Charlotte Roldan), when they kidnap on her birthday and gag her with a large jawbreaker. Liz chokes on the jawbreaker.

The girls cover up the crime, but one of the girls, Julie (Rebecca Gayheart), begins to feel really guilty about it. Courtney (Rose McGowan) refuses to come clean, but Julie exposes her as the murderer with a recording of Courtney saying she killed Liz at the Prom at the end of the movie.
2. In which kids' movie does Sid remark "I don't know about you guys, but we are the weirdest herd I have ever seen."?

Answer: Ice Age

In "Ice Age" (2002), Manny the mammoth and Sid the sloth are two very different animals who end up migrating together, because Manny prefers to be alone, and Sid's herd left him behind.

Along the way, they rescue a baby that lost its mother in a tiger attack, and decide to follow the human tribe to return the baby to them. They are joined by Diego, a sabre tooth tiger, who has ulterior motives - he wants to bring the baby back to his herd. On their journey, Manny, Sid and Diego become good friends, and decide to stay together as a herd, prompting Sid to say this quote.

"Ice Age" spawned some sequels, including "Ice Age: The Meltdown" (2006), "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" (2009), and "Ice Age: Continental Drift" (2012).
3. In which of these movies does Peter tell two downsizing consultants "Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late... I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me. And, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour... I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work."?

Answer: Office Space

In this 1999 Mike Judge comedy, Ron Livingston plays Peter Gibbons, a guy who works a boring, repetitive cubicle job. After a therapy session gone wrong, Peter starts rebelling by being lazy, not showing up for work, and eventually just deciding he was not going to go to work at all anymore. He and his buddies also devise a way to rip the company off.

In the film, management hire two cost-cutting consultants to speak with all the employees and make recommendations on where the company can downsize. Despite Peter telling The Bobs (so-called, because the characters share the same first name) that he barely works at all, they love him, and they suggest that he be promoted to management.
4. Cher's father, Mel, asks Christian "What's with you, kid? You think the death of Sammy Davis left an opening in the Rat Pack?" in which of these movies?

Answer: Clueless

"Clueless"(1995) is about Cher (Alicia Silverstone) and her Beverly Hills friends' experiences in high school and the social realm.

Midway through the movie, Cher is going to a party with Christian (Justin Walker). He shows up to pick her up, and manages to irritate both Cher's father, Mel (Dan Hedaya), and her ex-stepbrother, Josh (Paul Rudd). Mel let Cher leave with Christian, but not before asking Christian this question, and then telling him, "If anything happens to my daughter, I've got a .45 and a shovel. I doubt anyone would miss you.".
5. In which comedy does Sonny ask Julian what he wants to eat, and gets the reply "Thirty packets of ketchup."?

Answer: Big Daddy

Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler) is a lazy, irresponsible man-child in "Big Daddy" (1999), when a five-year old Julian (played by twins Dylan and Cole Sprouse) shows up at his front door looking for his biological father (who was actually Sonny's roommate, Kevin).

Sonny lets Julian stay with him, and eventually wants to adopt him, though the law won't allow it. He learns to be a great father for Julian, but at first, he is a much more laissez-faire parent, and doesn't make Julian bathe or go to school, and let him eat thirty packets of ketchup for lunch.
6. In which movie do Ben and Pete have an extensive conversation about chairs, while on drugs in Las Vegas? Some of the conversation includes: "Isn't it weird how chairs exist even when you're not sitting on them?" and "Please take the chairs away. I don't like them. The big one is staring at me and that short one is being very droll.".

Answer: Knocked Up

In "Knocked Up" (2007), Ben (Seth Rogan) meets Alison (Katherine Heigl) at a bar and they go home together. Their one night stand turns into a much more complicated situation when Alison realizes she is pregnant.

Alison and Ben have a big fight in the movie, and he takes off to Las Vegas with Alison's brother-in-law, Pete (Paul Rudd). While in Vegas, the guys take magic mushrooms and enjoy a Cirque de Soleil show before going back to their hotel room where they discover that there are five different types of chairs just in that one suite.

One problem they experience while trying to get to White Castle is when they pick up Neil Patrick Harris (who plays a fictionalized version of himself), who is hitchhiking on the side of the road. When they stop for gas and directions, NPH takes off in Harold's car.

A sequel, "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay" was released in 2008, and a Christmas movie, "A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas" came in 2011.
8. At the beginning of which movie does Fabrizio claim, "I can see the Statue of Liberty already! ... It's very small, of course."?

Answer: Titanic

In "Titanic" (1997), Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet), of different social classes, meet and fall in love on board the ill-fated ship. Fabrizio (Danny Nucci) is Jack's friend who wins Titanic tickets in a poker game with Jack. 9. In which movie does an equine animal try to compliment his buddy's home by saying "It is lovely! You know, you're really quite a decorator. It's amazing what you've done with such a modest budget. I like that boulder, that is a nice boulder!"?

Answer: Shrek

In "Shrek" (2001), Shrek the ogre teams up with Donkey, a talking donkey, to rescue a princess, Fiona. Shrek does this as a favor for Lord Farquuad, so that Farquuad will clear all the fairy tale creatures out of Shrek's swamp, where he lives.

Donkey sees Shrek's swamp and shack when he first meets Shrek and follows him home. He first says the place looks like a dump, not realizing that it was Shrek's home, then tries to cover it up with compliments.

"Shrek" was followed by "Shrek 2" (2004), "Shrek the Third" (2007), and "Shrek Forever After" (2010). There is also the spin-off movie "Puss in Boots", released in 2011.
10. Which of these movies ends with the short monologue "With the All Spark gone, we cannot return life to our planet. And fate has yielded its reward: a new world to call home. We live among its people now, hiding in plain sight, but watching over them in secret, waiting, protecting. I have witnessed their capacity for courage, and though we are worlds apart, like us, there's more to them than meets the eye. I am Optimus Prime, and I send this message to any surviving Autobots taking refuge among the stars. We are here. We are waiting."?

Answer: Transformers

"Transformers" (2007) tells the story of two groups of alien robots, the Autobots (good guys) and Decepticons (bad guys), whose feud travels from their home planet, Cybertron, to Earth. They are fighting over the powerful All Spark, which gives life to machines; the Autobots fear that the Decepticons would do evil things with it.

In the final battle at the end of the movie, Sam (Shia LaBeouf) destroys the All Spark while simultaneously killing Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons. Most of the Decepticons are killed in the battle, and the Autobots remain behind on Earth, disguised as vehicles. In his ending monologue, the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, issues a call for any Autobots lost in space to come to Earth and join them. We meet some of these Autobots who seek refuge on Earth in the 2009 sequel "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen".
