Answer: Palpatine

Anakin (Hayden Christensen) and Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) had been sent to 'rescue' Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid), who was being held hostage by Count Dooku (Christopher Lee), or so they believed. Obi-Wan was knocked unconscious during the fight and Anakin reached Palpatine alone.

After a brief struggle with Dooku, Anakin cut off both of his hands. Dooku was on his knees before Anankin when Palpatine convinced Anakin to kill him. The expression on Dooku's face made it obvious that he was not prepared for this betrayal.

Answer: while trying to arrest Palpatine

Palpatine took a bold step and revealed to Anakin that he was the Sith Lord, Darth Sidious, whom they had been looking for. Anakin reported this to Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) who, along with several other Jedi, went to arrest Palpatine. Palpatine killed the other Jedi, but Windu was able to successfully hold him at bay.

As Windu was preparing to kill him, Anakin entered and insisted that Palpatine be arrested and given a fair trial. When Windu became distracted by Anakin, Palpatine, who was not as beaten as he'd let on, killed Windu.

Answer: Anakin

Tortured by nightmares of Padme's (Natalie Portman) death in childbirth, Anakin pledged himself to Palpatine, who promised to find a way to keep her alive. Palpatine convinced Anakin that the Jedi were plotting to take control of the galaxy, and sent him to kill off the younglings, children who were training to become Jedi at the Jedi temple. Every act of murder that Anakin committed drew him deeper and deeper into the Dark Side.

Answer: 66

After Palpatine, or Darth Sidious, convinced Anakin to become his apprentice, he was seen (often in hologram form) contacting his Clone commanders and telling them to 'execute order 66'. The clones then turned and either killed, or attempted to kill the Jedi who were with them at the time. The only Jedi that we saw escaping these attempts were Obi-wan and Yoda (voice of Frank Oz).

Answer: Chewbacca

After surviving the Clone attempt to kill him, Yoda entered a spaceship, saying goodbye to the two wookiees who were assisting him. Eventually he headed into self-imposed exile on Dagobah, where Luke would find him in Episode V, 'The Empire Strikes Back'. Chewbacca, as most fans will not need to be told, was the wookiee we first met in the company of Han Solo, captain of the Millenium Falcon.

He was played by Peter Mayhew in all 4 movies.

Answer: He thought Obi-Wan had turned Padme against him.

After Obi-Wan saw the recordings of Anakin killing the younglings he went to speak to Padme, to try and find out where Anakin was. Padme would not tell him, but decided to confront Anakin herself. Obi-Wan stowed away on her ship, and emerged when she was telling Anakin that she could not follow him on the path that he had chosen. Seeing Obi-Wan emerge from Padme's ship at this critical moment was more than Anakin could handle.

Answer: She lost the will to live.

After Padme confronted Anakin and Obi-Wan emerged from her ship, Anakin did use the force to choke her, but not to death. Obi-Wan was able to take her for medical help, where the driods working on her informed Obi-Wan that she was dying, despite the fact that there was no physical reason.

They said that she had lost the will to live, and that they must hurry and take the babies before she died. She regained consciousness only long enough to see them, and give them their names. Ironically, Anakin turned to the dark side in an effort to save Padme from dying, as he had seen her die in his dream.

However it was his betrayal that stripped her of her will to live, and caused the death he had sought to avoid.

Answer: C3PO

As C3PO (Anthony Daniels) and R2D2 (Kenny Baker) were boarding the spaceship with Senator Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits), he gave the order to have the protocol droid's memory erased. Presumably this was done so that C3PO, with his tendency to gossip, did not inadvertently reveal the location, or even the existence, of the twins.

However it was also necessary to explain how C3PO had no memory of either Luke (Mark Hamill) or Vader (David Prowse) in Episodes IV, V and VI.

Answer: She was adopted by Bail Organa and his wife.

Padme was made to look still pregnant at her funeral, as one of the efforts made to protect the babies. Bail Organa took the infant Leia to his home planet of Alderaan, and Obi-Wan took the infant Luke to his Uncle Owen Lars (Joel Edgerton) on Tatooine. Obi-Wan remained on Tatooine, to watch over Luke as he grew.

Answer: the ability to communicate from beyond death

Yoda informed Obi-Wan that his old master, Qui-Gon Jinn, had recently discovered a way to communicate from the other side (so to speak). Yoda instructed Obi-Wan to study this newly found ability. This, of course, explained how Obi-Wan was able to communicate with Luke, after being struck down by Vader in 'A New Hope' an ability not shown by any Jedi in Episodes I, II and III.
