We first meet CC Bloom in "Beaches" as a pre-teen New York girl with aspirations towards fame. She meets rich, reserved San Francisco girl Hillary at a resort in Atlantic Beach. Their meeting is the start of a lifelong friendship. This poignant 1988 film has Mayim Bialik ("Blossom" and "Big Bang Theory") as the ebullient 11 year old CC., while Bette Midler portrays her as an adult.
2. Robert De Niro (1974)

Picture this: Sicily in 1911 (oops! wrong show). "The Godfather" (1972) and "The Godfather Part II" (1974) gave us the tough mob boss Don Vito Corleone. The "Don" was played to the hilt by Marlon Brando, especially when he made an offer you couldn't refuse. "The Godfather Part II" is a prequel where we see how a young Vito Corleone rose to power in New York in the 1920s. Robert De Niro plays the younger Don.

Both Elle Fanning and Cate Blanchett play Daisy Fuller Williams in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" (2008). The story is about Benjamin Button who is born with a severe ageing disease, i.e. he ages backwards. Young Daisy first meets Benjamin at a home for seniors where her grandmother lives.
They remain friends throughout the years. We watch as Benjamin grows younger and Daisy grows older and they finally match up in their forties, but time moves on for both.

In the 1989 movie "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", we not only meet up with Sean Connery as Indy's father, Professor Henry Jones, we also meet young Indy, played by River Phoenix. This time the plot focuses around Indiana Jones, played again by Harrison Ford, finding the Holy Grail and also locating his missing father. This movie was the first in the franchise to be rated PG-13.
5. Rachel McAdams (2004)

"The Notebook" (2004) gives us a romantic movie based on the 1996 novel by Nicholas Sparks. Wealthy Allie Hamilton falls for poor but honest Noah Calhoun, a love that lasts a lifetime, despite intervening circumstances, e.g. family and war. The young Allie is played by Rachel McAdams ("Mean Girls"), while the amazing Gena Rowlands portrays the aging Allie.
The film's director is Nick Cassavetes, Gena Rowlands' son.
6. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (2012)

The 2012 film "Looper" has a science fiction premise, i.e. when the mob wants a hit done, they send the target into the past where a "looper" is waiting to kill him. In this case, the assassin is named Joe, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. But what goes around usually comes back around, and the mob wants to eliminate the evidence, so they send Old Joe, Bruce Willis, back so his younger self can "whack" him.
7. Kate Winslet (1997)

Who, by now, is not familiar with the love story between artist Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt Bukater in "Titanic" (1997)? The poor star-crossed lovers are destined to have their love cut short on a doomed ship, but their short relationship, with Kate Winslet as Rose, is a love for the ages. So deep was Rose's love, we see her reminiscing 84 years later, as the centenarian Rose, played by Gloria Stuart, recounts her adventure to her granddaughter.
8. Ewan McGregor (1999)

The incomparable British actor Alec Guinness portrays Jedi master and mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original "Star Wars" films beginning in 1977, a departure from his usual films such as "Lawrence of Arabia" and "The Ladykillers". It is not until "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace", in 1999, that we meet up with the younger Obi-Wan Kenobi, played by Ewan McGregor ("Moulin Rouge!").

Both Christina Ricci and Rosie O'Donnell played the part of Roberta in "Now and Then" (1995). The story recounted four 12-year-olds growing up in a small town in the summer of 1970, their pledge of friendship, and their reunion years later.
Gaby Hoffmann/Demi Moore, Ashleigh Aston Moore/Rita Wilson, and Thora Birch/Melanie Griffith, played Samantha, Chrissy and Teeny, respectively.
10. Josh Brolin (2012)

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones play Agent J and Agent K, respectively, in "Men in Black" from 1997. As Agent J liked to say, "I make this look good."
