Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Questions Quiz

Answer: Power

Over a millennium ago, Xu Wenwu found the ten rings, a powerful artifact which grants its owner power, immortality, and strength. He used these to build up an empire, topple regimes that he deemed unworthy, raise his own reputation, and train an army to do his bidding.

Despite all of these gifts, Wenwu craves even more power. When he hears that the people of the city of Ta Lo have a gift that rivals his own, he decides to seek out the city to take its powers for himself. However, what he does find, at the entrance to the city, is love.

Answer: Iron Gang

The Iron Gang are the sworn enemies of the Ten Rings organization and they infiltrate the Ten Rings compound to demand retribution. Seeing that Xu Wenwu is not present at that time, they say that Ying Li will serve as a substitute. She pleads to save her children, to which the Iron Gang agrees. Nevertheless, Shang-Chi witnesses the death of his mother with his own eyes.

Answer: Nobody

While Xu Wenwu puts Shang-Chi through a rigorous training regimen led by Death Eater, Xu Xialing is not allowed to train, even though she wants to. She observes the training of Shang-Chi as well as the warriors of the Ten Rings and learns on her own, through observation. She eventually becomes very adept at martial arts, especially at the rope dart, which she uses to great effect.

Answer: Katy

Shang-Chi is sent to kill his mother's murderer. Afterwards, he decides to run away from the Ten Rings and his father and disappears into a 'regular' existence in San Francisco taking on the name of Shaun and enrolling in high school. There he meets Katy Chen and the two become close friends.

In the beginning of the movie, the two are working as valet drivers when the members of the Ten Rings attack 'Shaun'. Katy gets drawn into the adventure when she refuses to leave Shang-Chi's side.

Answer: Macau

Shang-Chi loses his jade pendant that his mother gave him in a fight, so he ventures to Macau in order to find his sister, Xu Xialing. She runs a fight club in Macau called the Golden Daggers Club, where Shang-Chi goes. He is called upon to fight once he's there, and his opponent surprisingly is his sister, herself. Shang-Chi refuses to fight and is knocked unconscious by Xialing.

When he comes to, the siblings manage to talk things out and join forces.

Answer: A bamboo forest

Xu Wenwu hears a voice calling to him that he believes is his dead wife. Her voice tells him that she is being imprisoned by the people of Ta Lo and he has to save her. This makes Wenwu determined to get to Ta Lo and fuels his anger.

A bamboo forest of an ever-shifting maze protects the entrance to the dimension where the city of Ta Lo is. Using the jade pendants that Ying Li gave to her children, Wenwu is able to create a map to get to Ta Lo. It is revealed that the path to Ta Lo opens up only once a year, right before the Qingming Festival. Wenwu also declares that he will burn Ta Lo to the ground after he rescues Ying Li, an act that angers his children.

Answer: Morris

A hundun, also known as a dijiang, is a mythical creature of Chinese folklore. Traditionally, they are small furry creatures with four wings and no face. At some point in his long life, Xu Wenwu found the hundun and brought it back to the Ten Rings headquarters.

When Trevor Slattery was captured and imprisoned by Wenwu's men, he encountered the hundun and learned its language. He discovered that the hundun's name was Morris and that he was from Ta Lo. When Shang-Chi, Xialing and Katy are caught and imprisoned, Trevor says that Morris can lead them to Ta Lo. Morris also said that they have a 90%, no, a 19% chance of succeeding to get there safely.

Answer: Their aunt, Nan

Shang-Chi, Xialing, Katy, Trevor and Morris all get to Ta Lo safely, but then encounter the locals and have a standoff with them. However, when their aunt, Ying Nan, recognizes Shang-Chi and Xialing, the locals welcome the newcomers with open arms. The newcomers prepare for Xu Wenwu's planned invasion by training: Shang-Chi learns the art of aerial martial arts, Xialing trains with a rope dart, Katy even learns archery (though her instructor will try to shield her from using it in battle for as long as possible).

When Wenwu comes with his people, Shang-Chi and his people are prepared.

Answer: Soul Stealer

When Xu Wenwu starts breaking down the Dark Gate, Soul Stealers start escaping. They take souls back to the Dweller-in-Darkness, making it stronger so that it can break out of the Dark Gate and attack Ta Lo. One of the first Soul Stealers attacks Death Eater and takes his soul.

This prompts Razor Fist to call a truce and ally his forces with the people of Ta Lo who they had previously been fighting.

Answer: Dragon

When the Great Protector defeated the Dweller-in-Darkness the first time, she locked him up in a cave and sealed it off with magical barriers to keep him confined. In the battle that takes place in Ta Lo in 2024, Shang-Chi falls into the lake and sinks, only to find the Great Protector there.

She rose out of the lake and Shang-Chi rode upon her back. However, the Dweller-in-Darkness was stronger this time and had the upper hand until Katy shot an arrow at the Dweller that turned the tide. Together with Shang-Chi, the Great Protector was able to destroy the Dweller for good.
