Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Before the movie begins, a special dedicatory message to a North Korean dictator who died in 2011 is shown. Who was he?

Answer: Kim Jong-il

Kim Jong-il was North Korea's second Supreme Leader from 1994 to 2011, when he passed away. He was preceded by his father, Kim Il-sung, who was also the first and only President of the country, since the position was abolished when he died to declare him Eternal President of the Republic. The movie parodies and mentions several dictators.
2. The movie begins with many world leaders discussing the nuclear threat that the country of Wadiya represents. Which journalist is seen interviewing Admiral General Aladeen, asking him if he has nuclear weapons?

Answer: Larry King

The news talk about Wadiya's refusal to let U.N. inspectors in to evaluate security conditions, since there is a possibility that the Republic of Wadiya is creating nuclear weapons. Larry King, a renowned American journalist known for his work at CNN, interviews the "supreme leader" of Wadiya. Aladeen refuses to answer when King asks if he has nuclear weapons or is developing them.

Aladeen is known for his dictatorial government, and an example of this is shown at the Wadiyan Olympic Games, where he shoots other contestants, thus winning the race, 14 gold medals, and breaking a world record. He also changed more than 300 words in the Wadiyan dictionary to "Aladeen", so both "positive" and "negative" would translate to "Aladeen".
3. Admiral General Aladeen addresses the nation of Wadiya, saying nuclear weapons will only be used for medical research and to produce clean energy. While laughing, he also says that nuclear weapons will not be used to attack which Jewish country?

Answer: Israel

Aladeen assures the people of Wadiya that nuclear weapons will only be used for good purposes, but then laughs when he says he will not attack Israel, a nation which has been at war with surrounding countries since its creation.

After this scene, Aladeen visits the nuclear weapons facility, but when he sees the rocket under construction, he claims it is too small, and is angered by the fact that "all his friends have nuclear weapons", like Iran's former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Since the rocket is round and not pointy (therefore not scary), Aladeen executes Nadal, the head of the nuclear program, which is not surprising, since Aladeen even orders executions for simply questioning his memory!
4. In Aladeen's bedroom, he can be seen having sex with a famous actress, known for her role in "Transformers", and pays her with precious gems. Which actress was in that bedroom and made a cameo appearance in the movie?

Answer: Megan Fox

Megan Fox is an American actress, who became known after acting in the 2007 film "Transformers", and its sequel in 2009. Fox leaves Aladeen arguing that she has to meet with the Italian Prime Minister the next day (this scene was deleted for screenings in Italy because of the reference to Silvio Berlusconi), and points out that Katy Perry got a diamond Rolex watch. Before Megan leaves, he takes a picture with her, and a wall full of pictures with celebrities is shown.
5. The United Nations announce that, unless Aladeen delivers a speech in the U.N. personally, there would be airstrikes against Wadiya. When he is informed of this, Aladeen was playing a Wii game called "Terrorist 2K12". Which of these events was NOT referenced in that game?

Answer: The September 11 attacks

Admiral General Aladeen was playing the game "Wii Terrorist 2K12", which features levels such as "Kabul Kidnap", "Tokyo Subway" (in reference to the Tokyo subway sarin attack of 1995), and "Car Bombing". Three other levels are "Munich Games" (referring to the 1972 attack during the Munich Olympic Games of Israeli athletes and coaches, perpetrated by members of Palestinian organization "Black September"), "London Underground" (referring to the terrorist attacks to the London Underground in 2005) and "Achille Lauro" (referring to the 1985 hijacking of Italian ship MS Achille Lauro by the Palestinian Liberation Front, where a Jewish-American passenger who was disabled was murdered.)

When Aladeen is finished playing, he goes to an emergency meeting where he orders to inflate his neck pillow and to pack his medium level sudoku, as they were traveling to the United States.
6. Aladeen arrives to the Lancaster Hotel in New York City, where his uncle Tamir introduces him to a security expert, who then attempts to kidnap and kill Aladeen. What is the name of the security expert, which might remind you of a pitcher from the L.A. Dodgers with the last name of Kershaw?

Answer: Clayton

Clayton, an American security expert played by John C. Reilly, openly exposes his stereotypical closed views about topics like "the Arabs", since he labels them all as terrorists, and recommends Aladeen to visit buildings like the Empire State "before his Arab friends" attack it.

It is revealed that Clayton was hired by Tamir to kidnap and murder Aladeen, this way, a double would enter the U.N. and declare Wadiya needs help from the organization to write a new constitution in order to become a democracy, that would obviously economically benefit Tamir and put him indirectly in power. Meanwhile, Clayton is seen trying to torture Aladeen, so he cuts his beard and tries to burn it. Since the beard is indestructible, the building burns down and Clayton dies in the fire, however, Aladeen manages to escape. When Aladeen reaches the United Nations building, he yells that the people of Wadiya "love to be oppressed".

Tamir reads the newspaper the next morning, thinking that the "charred body" headline referred to Aladeen, so he smiles.
7. Outside the U.N. headquarters, Aladeen meets a protester called Zoey, who thinks Aladeen is a Wadiyan dissident. While riding in her motorcycle, Aladeen says his first name is Allison. What is his last name?

Answer: Burgers

Zoey took Aladeen to her store in Brooklyn, "Free Earth Collective", which she describes as "vegan, feminist, and non-profit", as well as "anti-racist" and "anti-oppressive". Zoey offers Aladeen (or Allison, as she now knows him) a job at her store, since all of her employees are political refugees.

However, Aladeen declines the offer, and leaves after calling her "Justin Bieber's chubby double".
8. Aladeen, saddened because he no longer has his beard, nostalgically looks at his reflection in a glass wall. As he looks inside that wall, he sees Nadal working in a store. For which company is Nadal working?

Answer: Apple

Nadal is seen working as a "Mac genius" in the Apple store. As he leaves work, Aladeen follows him to Little Wadiya, and goes into a restaurant called "Death to Aladeen". The waiter welcomes him and asks for his name, and Aladeen makes up three names (including "Ladies Wash Room" and other fake names literally taken from signs around the restaurant). Since his resemblance to the Wadiyan leader grows suspicious, everyone in the restaurant surrounds him and intends to kill him. Nadal realizes that it is in fact Aladeen and says he is a cousin so he is left alone.

Nadal explains that everyone who Aladeen had executed lives in Little Wadiya in New York, because the executioner was a member of the resistance. Nadal agrees to help Aladeen with the condition that he is reinstated as the head of nuclear power research. His plan is to get Aladeen to work for Zoey (whose store is catering the event) and therefore be able to get inside the building as staff. Then, he would rip the U.N. constitution.

The next day, Aladeen says he accept the job as "general manager", and Zoey replies that she can't do that because she is the general manager. Aladeen laughs and says "unless I kill you", they both laugh again and Aladeen is hired.
9. Aladeen and Nadal decide to go on a tour of the city to observe strategic positions to enter the U.N. headquarters. Which vehicle do they ride?

Answer: Helicopter

Aladeen and Nadal go to "Gotham Helicopter Tours", attempting to see the city from the sky, but being cautious of acting as normal Americans. Aladeen says that is not a thing to worry about since he is the best actor in Wadiya, as he won four Wadiyan Golden Globes (which he gave to himself). They start speaking in the helicopter, about Bin Laden living in his guest house, his Porsche 911 model and that he wants the new "911 2012" model, and mention several landmarks of New York. Since they are talking in a foreign language, a couple that is riding the helicopter with them assume they are talking about the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and when Aladeen shows Nadal his vest for back problems, and starts counting down from five to show his good English, the couple is terrified and screams. They are both arrested and taken to prison, where Zoey goes to free him, and in that moment, Aladeen falls in love with Zoey.

Although Zoey's store had lost the contract to cater the event in the U.N., Aladeen recovers it by placing a human head within the melons in "Greenworld" (Zoey's competition). While kissing, Aladeen reveals who he really is to Zoey, and they break up. Aladeen can then be seen trying to jump off a bridge, just after seeing Wadiyans destroying his statue. Before he jumps, Nadal arrives in a motorcycle and stops him, saying that if that constitution was signed, there would be "free press, women drivers, and civil rights", and Aladeen is confused because he doesn't know what civil rights are. After talking to Nadal, Aladeen and Nadal resume their original plan.
10. Aladeen and Nadal go the top of a building, in front of the Lancaster Hotel. Nadal quickly assembles a zipline with a weapon that was originally going to be used to assassinate Aladeen. As Aladeen tries to get through the hotel, he realizes he is carrying too many objects with him, so releases them so he has less weight on him. Which of these objects was Aladeen NOT carrying?

Answer: An iPhone

Aladeen tries to zipline across the hotel but is too heavy to reach the hotel room. Nadal tells him to lose some weight, so he decides to defecate. After this, he releases more objects he was inexplicably carrying with him, like a handful of bananas, two bricks, and a pack of Vita Coco water. Time seems to be running out when a goat starts chewing the rope that held the zipline attached to the room, but Aladeen enters the room just in time. He then successfully executes his plan by tearing the constitution and ordering the arrest of Tamir, saying that oil companies plan to destroy his country.

He then delivers an interesting speech where he asks people why they are angry at dictators, and makes them imagine what would be of America if it was a dictatorship: "1% of the population would have all of nation's wealth, the government would help rich friends get richer by cutting their taxes and bailing them out when they gamble and lose, the needs of the poor for healthcare and education could be ignored, you could wiretap phones, lie about why you're going to war, fill prisons with one particular racial group and no one would complain, use the media to scare the people into supporting policies that are against their interests". He also points out that "democracy is stupid because every stupid person's vote counts".

After this full of satire speech, he sees Zoey crying within the crowd, so he changes his mind and calls for real elections in Wadiya. One year later, the program "Good Morning Wadiya" announces President Prime Minister Admiral General Aladeen as the winner of the elections, with 98.8% of votes. A clip is shown where voters are scared by a tank to move to Aladeen's voting booth.

Finally, Aladeen marries Zoey in Wadiya, and when it all seems to have a happy ending, Zoey steps on a glass cup, arguing it is her "people's tradition" (this happens at Jewish weddings). Aladeen hugs her, but then orders her execution, ending the movie.
